Syd fish markets of a sunday mate... they SOMETIMES really early in the mornings have live squid still in the water... bit of a rareity but... one the squid touches FRESH i wouldnt go near it..... Its pretty easy to catch squid , what jigs you using?

get the oceanio mate, can do so much with it..... I used to have a capricorn 4500J that i loved... plus it looks soooo good.. I know a bloke that runs it on a rapala braid concept stick and lands king's reguluary... load it up with 30/50lb braid and your set.

Any 2-4kg rod would do mate, 1-3kg if you want some fun.

Nice report mate, I was down at bermagui for the long weekend.. Picked up a couple of flattys.... terrible from last year I averaged around 20 flathead around 4 hours.... Water was pretty bad in the lake.. and heard a couple reports of marlin been caught out wide.

Any net from+_+_) will do you fine...... the enviro nets are okay aswell but hard to move through the water... but i guess if your catching bream and stuff its alright..

Im getting the 8-10kg 7" version for my baitrunner 4500 with 10kg mono for jew livebaiting... Nice rod mate!!

For me i might be a bit different, since been a private wharf ... do get the occainsal bass boat come up and flick lures .... apart from that i get plenty of bream, whiting and jews at night..... lots of crabs ... mind you this is a VERYYYY weedy territory.. so ill be trying for squid aswell..

When i was young'n, a family friend that introduced me to fishing told me he wouldnt fish without his hat.... Ever since thing i ALWAYS wear a hat fishing.... if i drive ages and forget the hat... ill go back and get it... im very superstitious about it.

Nothing wrong its just all luck... although without yourself knowing you could be paying more attention to that rod..... e.g baiting up niceley.... well they reckon bait presentation is half the key!

Hey guys , managed to pick up a 8000FA stella... Just wondering what to do with a rod setup..... Bassically im going spinning with it up the north coast soon so ive got my eyes on the 7" Nitro Godzilla spin Im running 30lb braid with that on my second spool Would this rod suffer with 50lb braid on it for sydney harbour kingy work off the wharves and downrigging?? there not getting smaller each year! Also after a rod for tuna... I could ethier run 30lb braid on the nitro with capacity or fight the tuna real hard with 50lb on a jig rod.... which the jig rod could also be used for jigging terrigal kingys.... Its only got 300m of 50lb braid on it but not sure how far it could run using 12kg of drag and a beast of a rod. Opinions? Brad

As for eating fish... its cleaned up alot.... ive been fishing there for years and usually let go everything... my recent jew that i got in the LCR , check the reports, i kept and ate. I consider it safe if your not doing it everyday... As for boat ramps... theres a boat ramp near st josephs college which is just around the corner from fig tree bridge.. Brad

ive ran a few lures past them and they fly out of the water... also they jump alot around the low slack tide at my spot... I always manage to hook jews in the LCR when the mullet are jumping definatley jews chasing them....
