  1. Hi guys When last away i called at ?????? Trailers to look at upgrading my existing model. As i was on my way upto Laurieton with all the gear, kids bikes etc on board. The salesmen comented on all the gear and warned of the posibilties of damaging the boat by overloading! Never thought of it before but it makes sense i suppose, specially if the boat is not fully suppported? Anybody exprienced this or have any suggestions on extra measures that can be taken?
  2. Hi Raiders Our 12 yro fridge is not holding temp, on investigation the seal on top of door is leaking, was going to call door reseal guy but the freezer is also not keeping things frozen but door seals well there. always thought the compressor fed the cold air into the freezer and it fell down into the fridge? If this the case it tells me it is more than door seals? Anybody else know fridges, not looking at fixing myself just if it is more than seals i will flik it for new one.
  3. Well its 100% cross the board now and as both sides agree the economy is in good shape it should be nothing but utopia from now on, as all the State & Federal governments will agree! Should be a fantastic time To all those that believe the union officials are going into government to fight for our rights instead of bailing on the dying system of unionism in place of a better "gig". Perhaps you may get the chance to ask them that, why when they last held government they didn’t fight for rights, wages and penalty rates for young workers at a certain Fast food chain? Or was that because the company donated million + into the party coffers (both sides). These guys are just after a softer ride, and don’t give two tossers about us. The greens didn’t get any where near the swing they wanted, Brown is already spinning the result by labor to there way. Now as a fishing community it is imperative that we write to our newly elected representatives and let them know we/will supported them and we fish!
  4. Sat cricket, lawns swim friends over Sun was thinking of travelling up to meet craig and have alook but not sure if i trust myself, my boat is still not back from problems with trim & tilt (clumative 6wks now) and i dont think the will trust me around any boat demos, could tell her we are going fishing?
  5. A tip on the DSE Alarm. I opened my alarm up, pretty simple 3 screws. The PCB (printed circuit board) is not coated so long time expsoure to the salt/water air will corrode the joints. I am going to mask the sensor and siren and buy a tin of conformal coating spray from RS components or maybe Jaycar and spray the board. This will also help CD players etc that are not designed for marine use. Electronic manufacturers comonly conformal coat any boards that will be exposed to mositure, Most automotive/marine electronics will be coated at time of manufacture

    Sounder Reviews

Any recomendations on where to get it?
  7. Your right, did you see the BS where you "click to have your say" only for it to be a pre written letter to go to the Minster for fisheries and CC Premier (http://www.letlucylive.org.au/form1.html) no chance to voice anything else. Mods can we set up a similar automated letter that we can have that automatically sends a letter with our views of support for conservation through consultation and sensible means?
  8. Warnie Helped heaps thanks, Powerhouse Penrith has sold out. Got one at another store put away till i pick it up. Cheers
  9. Hi Went to powerhouse they dont do any 12v alarms at all any more, might try Dick Smith
  10. LOL and i would have no problems with that either. Might give one a go as I am going to a van park in Laurieton at Xmas. thx
  11. Very neat, was it hard to apply?
  12. Hi I was told by lowrance here that i could not use my current X49 transducer with an X135. I took there word for it but if the techs in the uS are telling you otherwise?
  13. Ungry would it work under a boat cover or could that flapping set it off?
  14. Flight what a spectacular way to spend the evening, I got out of the office about 7pm and as i walked to the car i was thinking what a magnificent evening, you must of had a ball good on ya.
  15. I was going to use this guy . http://stores.ebay.com.au/SIMPLICITY-SIGNS
  16. Thanks Ceph What line lenght do the 4000 reels hold?
  17. Hi all I hava a combo i put together 10 years ago but have never used, it is a penn levelmatic 940 takes 225yds/12lb 4:1 retrieve weight 11.5lb with a Silstar 561CAM 5'6" 1pce Medium 4 - 6kg Baitcast rod. Is this set up way to small to have a go at some Kings? Never fished for them before and dont want to spend a fortune before i try.
  18. Awesome lizard guys well done, hoping to head down the Sth coast before xmas hope i can catch something half that size.
  19. Hi Spongy Bit more info here http://fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=24900 Pending how much you want to play around i would be discussing situation with Huey @ Huett marine and talking to him about a new prop before chasing genuine props or looking at foils.
  20. I think Netic has covered the less Pixel angle pretty well, even when you look at the hi end furuno's as used by pro's they still dont offer fantastic resolution on paper, but you would think they wouldnt use them if they wernt any good! I love the hi res colour screen on my Lowy 3500 plotter, just trying to get the best bang4buck with the sounder and the furuno LS 4100 for AUD$300 delivered seems a steel right now!

    New Trailer

A lot of the newer skid trailers for alloy boats are the "v" loader type, does this make a retriever mate unnessceary?
  22. Actually I have read elsewhere in some detail that Furuno do have international warranty. Taylor Marine (aust. Furuno dist.) dont like it and moan about it taking ages to get OK from Furuno US for repairs but they must do it. So ultimatley that is not an issue on Furuno. The biggest problem i have found with US sourced gear is that some (seems mainly Hummingbird) do not read in Metric. Netic thanks for your advice, I was seriusly considering a Lowrance color 5" unit to match the colour Plotter i have (which seems great) but I am a newby and not sure if i would do it justice. The Furuno LS 4100 seems such a great buy at present (both here & OS) and i thought it would be a good stepping stone? It appears on a small boat where GPS & sounder are side by side there is no advantage in having them communicate via the comms cable? Plus it leaves the door open for another upgrade next year, this shit is as good as home threatre for boys toys! banana Remember not all Furuno's come with transducers. The link Netic provided for the LS6100 is a great price but appears less the transducer, compared with pricing for the LS4100 which does include a transducer and temp sensor.
  23. But the lowerance have 480X480 and furuno have 240x380 and most recomend the furuno hands down over the Lowerance! How confusing is that.
  24. Andrew in terms of pic quality you will gain nothing over a SD (standard def) set top box on your telly. 10 & 7 are just trying to remarket something that has been around for a while (chanel 70 & 90are HD) Sound wise the odd program on HD will be in 5.1 dolby sound so if you have a seperate dolby digital amplifer hooked up you will gain sound like your DVD's. my 2c i wouldnt going spending a lot of $ on your current TV.
