  1. use a no8 for both rocks and lake and use mono not braid narrabeen holds a lot of big fish all over 40cms at times peter
  2. use cabbage or bread or both I rarely use weed off the rocks or the lake peter
  3. if you can find an old adjustable ironing board add some timber on top perfect cleaning table fits in car as well peter
  4. use the wall on side of boat ramp you must have caught some blackfish
  5. the fish are not that plentiful all the time and they freeze well fish are there all year
  6. those silver ghosts are there at fishermans beach try up near the cleaning tables cast out to the pole in the water when the seas are rough and southerly blowing I picked my pb jew tthere it went 64lb also big rays there as well peter
  7. for the lake I use a Jarvis walker vector 8ft 6in supertip series iv caught fish up to45cms with it matched with a avon centerpin good price too peter
  8. if its a Jarvis walker oceanblackfish you cant go wrong had mine for 8yrs and caught plenty of blackfish as well as the odd drummer for the price its perfect peter
  9. never fly fished but could you berley with bread and use a bread fly floating bread berley will make the drummer rise to the surface worth a try peter

  11. cut the old rubber boots down to sneeker size so boots just slip on attach cleats if you can get stainless cleats and bolts they will last for years mine have lasted 4years and I fish 3 times a week peter

  17. hi Royce plenty of fish in the lake not big but good eating size average 30cms the rocks have been hit and miss one dayonly 2fish the next6 but good fish cabbage is the go in the lake peter
  18. hi all took my friends grand kids 7 and 9 year old girls for a first time blackie session at narrabeen lake I was kept busy from the first cast the 9year old hooked a 30cm and the 7year old netted it this went on for about an hour between them they ended up with 7 and just as many lost while they were netting one blackie a huge flathead tried to swallow it right at the net I estimated it about 5or 6 kg surprised how quick the two girls took to fishing as it was their first time ever I think I had just as much fun showing them their mum is off to the shop to get two new rods and reels today peter

  20. in the 70s mate and I caught 2 snapper straight out from where your standing one 12lb the other8lb using our seascapes it was a80mt cast using occy as bait and was caught in the middle of the day pics are in my gallery peter

  22. I have smelt it a few times when the north easterly has dropped at night at my favourite jew spot it is a sure sign that they are around peter
  23. what rod would cast 10ozs any distance? for distance my max weight is 4oz and 20lb mono and that is on a 9144 glass rod peter

  25. fished there only when big southerly swells closed most other spots on the northern beaches out the corner of the pool casting straight to the tip of the joey about 60 to 80 mts using squid or occy and pilly tails good size snapper and big bream [have caught trag there a long time ago] th e rock at the point is called mushroom rock is also good for snapper and surface fish [tailor kings bonito] but watch the tide as you can get stranded until the tide goes down allways be carefull when fishi9ng the rocks peter
