just finished a session down the lake been there on and off for about a month waiting for the blackies to get bigger than the average 27cm that ive been catching well todaystarted off as usual heaps of throwbacks [25cm and smaller] had 4 keepers in the net and about to give up when i hooked a huge one took 10mins to net as i only had a 4lb trace measured 45cm which is a good fish for the lake peter

heaps of poddy mullet there have not seen anything else but small bream maybe a small flathead but you never know what you may get with lures by the way its called mullet creek peter

yes it is possible my 7144 has dual mounts iused a bind on reel winch available at tackle shops for the top mount saves taking two rods down the rocks alvey for bait fishing threadline for spinning no problems peter

just got back from mona vale fished for two and a half hours for nil i only fished for blackies today there may be some bream around in the washes using chicken as bait or even off the beach in the middle of the basin there is a good high tomorrow arvo peter

great catch the bigger blackies seem to prefer the cabbage unlike the smaller ones that love the weed great fighting fish around the kilo size good on ya peter

try the southern side of long reef a lot of good gutters there no cutting of cungi is allowed [marine park] berley with bread and useprawns and bread for bait peter

this time of the year they are going for cabbage getting busted up a lot while fishing for blackies peter

i caught my 64lb jew with a swedish model abu 7000 which i had for 30yrs off the beach loaded with 20lb mono you can use this reel for whiting up to sharks it will handle it if you want distance casting take out the brake blocks and even the level wind i also used oiled leather washers in the drag system and preferred bushes rather than bearings peter

im using sunline fine float 6lb fluro yellow find it very good forharbour and lakes but prefer sinking mono off the rocks as wind tends to bow the floating line too much and drags the float too fast peter

a cross between a red morwong drummer and a blackie rare catch peter

try a small piece of tripe or the white part of bacon and use breadcrumbs or crushed corn flakes to make a floating berley use 4lb line 2 droppers off main line little or no lead peter

try it without berley you may be surprised or fish stockton beach where the real sharks are peter

the 15 to 20 people that swim from mona vale beach out to the point every morning would love to see you throwing that much berley in to catch bronzies ..........not peter
