  1. allways buy one size bigger than you need so you can get them off quickly if you get washed in as they are hard to swim in when my spikes wear off I cut the boots dowm below the zipper so they are like a slipper and put stainless cleats on them I have had latest pair for three years and I sometimes fish three times a week on the rocks being like a slipper they are easier to kick off peter

  9. no stretch in braid lost to many fish for years I have been using 6lb or 8lb mono with no vaselene asifind it pulls the float too fast in rough water and the drift is to quick I don't get any line belly between rod tip and float unless its really rough or blowing a gale peter
  10. try and get a water based polyuethane as it is non yellowing peter
  11. get some offcuts of foam from a surfboard maker some wooden skewers from coles and plastic tubing for top and bottom of skewers as line guides[adjust to depth] foam is easy to shape paint with water based paint light blue base and fluro orange for tops peter

  17. try using sheet lead cut to size with scissors to suit the amount of wash there is i press the lead about 4inches above hook or use a paternoster rig but just press leadto bottom of line so if snagged the line pulls free makes it easy to put another sheet lead onuse a 1/o size hook only need enough lead for bait to slowly sink or with heavy baits use no sinker at all for shallow wash fishingi use a 00 ball sinker 8lb line swivel 4to 6lb trace and ano8-6 hooks for bream and blackies hope this helps peter
  18. give the northern end of the beach a go where the white steps end straight out from there you will find 4 or 5 rod holes in the rocks cast out towards south curly surf club [back of the surf break] 50 to 70mts on any tide but preferbley early morn or just before dark forsalmon tailor snapper and especially jew it is a safe spot but have to fish it more than once to get it wired peter

  21. i use a curtin ring 40cm up from sinker and hook easy to lift fish in or a fixed sinkerbetween 2 swivels peter
