  17. Hi to all long time since i have been out but the weather fined up for to day, hit the boat ramp at 6 and made our way out to the shelf. We hit the shelf about 8 with the lures already down the water was very green so we dicided to head out wide , the teamp got to about 21. After a couple of hours we dicided to head to brouns where fello raider Dave was, about 1 mile from browns we had a free jumping marlin about 100m in front of us so we stayed around for a couple of laps with no results so we headed north to find better water. After a few more hours north with heaps of bait around and the shotty going off we stripes we dicided to head back in, it was a long day but was good just to get out. Cheers Clifford

  20. Hi all headed out wide on sat hit 12 mile about 7 and dropped lures when we hit the shelf we had our first hit with a couple of little dollies all about 40 to 70 cm all went back but one that the hook went threw its gills. Dropped lures again and started heading northabout an hour or two we had the shot gun and riggers went off again some more little dollies. After about an hour we had 50 on the corner took off then stopped we suspected it was a dollie but we did not see it. We trolled for the rest of the day and had no action but what a day out great weather. Cheers Clifford

  23. Hi to all sorry about the late reply as i was away for work, ill start with my new approuch i have got ride of all 30 and only run 50w, i have removed my doc and run a daisy chain of little birds with a med bird on the back, i keep my two biggest lures up close to the boat and run smaller ones on riggers with a veriaty of colours from lumo, pink, blues and a black with orange. The one that got taken was the blue with pink under skert 9 inchs from head to skert. All rods have wind on leaders with 2 meter leaders on lures ,all knots retide before going out and drags checked. We hooked the marlin on a 50w 24kg, it spent about 5min putting on a show before going deep, where it spent most of its time and the size we estimated about 150kg and over, the measurement was 3.3 meters to end of bill. thanks Clifford
  24. Hi to all did not make it to ps due to work comitments but got out on sat, left the boat ramp at 6 and made our way to 12 mile were we dropped our lures. We got to the shelf and started to zig zag, it was about 10 when i noticed that the right hand rod was bending but the rubber band for the outrigger was still attached i looked out back when i saw a marlin just take off the rod started to scream. I picked up the rod and held on as the marlin was putting on a great show for us, after about an 30 min in the fight we started to try and plain the fish as it was going down deep this went on for another hour our so. we got it boat side we found the hooks a fair way down it throat we managed to get it out but not much life. We tryed to revive it for about 10 min with no luck, dont know if we took to long getting the hooks out so we gaffed it and dragged it on bourd and made our way back in. When we hit the habour we called friends so no fish went to wast, sorry not alot of photos due to decky had problem with camrea.
  25. Thanks for that Warnie ill try driving off the marlin alot futher next time as we tried it a few times but not that far, more worried about the spool. I have got in the practice of retieing all my riggs, checking my lures and wind on leaders i think i should have taken your advice earler and got rid of the tld 30, not any more ive just orderd a tld 50 to put in its place. Ill send you a pm this week if weather is good that would be fantastic. Thanks Clifford
