  1. Hi All Fairly new to Seabreeze - normally I just use BOM. I was wondering - how accurate is the predictions regarding wind strength and wave size? And is "waves" just swell, or include seas? Is there a difference between Sydney and Illawarra (Point Perpendicular in particular) for accuracy? (obviously they have graphs for both). Real issue is this weekend - was planning to head down there for a weekend fishing. For Friday, Bom is saying "Wind: W/NW 15/25 knots ahead of S/SE change 20/30 knots in the afternoon". Seabreeze is suggesting 9-21 knots, NNW to SE, and a wave height of about 1m. Normally with those sorts of winds, I would expect huge seas, and a big nasty swell. I wouldn't even bother going down - but seabreeze is giving me hope.... false hope? How good is it? What are your experiences? thanks Mike
  2. Hey All Does anyone have any inside knowledge regarding what livebait is available around Crookhaven heads (or on the way from there to the banks)? Really, I'm after: - Where? - What? - Does light make a difference? (IE before daybreak...) - What rigs do you use? I'm fairly new to the livebaiting side of fishing - but keen to push my fishing forwards and upwards :-) I'm famliar with the area - but trying to make the most of the banks - keen to drop some livebaits for some big kingies - or whatever else is out there :-) Also - just in case anyone knows - has anything been happening out at the banks recently? Mike
  3. Hi All So - thought I'd better introduce myself. Name's Mike. 30 YO, Married, kid on the way (which means worried about losing out on fishing time, and very excited to be training up a new fisherperson). Grew up fishing flathead. I live in Sydney, but often holiday down Crookhaven Heads, and enjoy fishing that area. Have access to a boat, and trying to push my fishing from bream and flathead, to Kingfish - and eventually Dollys, Tuna and the ultimate - Marlin - all of which have been caught at the Banks (which is off Crookhaven Heads/Jervis Bay. Anyway - I've been loving the stories and pics on this site - and loving the local nature (I live in Botany Bay area). I think you've all convinced me I need to learn how to catch Jewies. Mike
  4. wow! A personal welcome! I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy :-) Mike
