  1. well done, on the vibes thing, definately give them a go. i've had good success in the brisbane river on them particularly the river to sea baby vibe. if the water is murky the bream can still easily find them from the rattle. cheers alex
  2. nice stuff mate! what aprox depth did you pull them from?
  3. nice one finks! wish i was there. wonder how long they will hang there this time. i have caught them there in winter but with no regularity. hopefully they will hang around till summer. imagine that. I'll have to come down to syd to get a few soon, what do ya reckon? once again well done. frang fink
  4. 3000 daiwa will be fine, you can put 30lb on a sol easy plus you don't need a huge line capacity for kings cause you either stop em or they reef you. sol has about 7kg of drag i think? should be adequate for most botany kings. cheers alex
  5. i thought that the mk chargers only charged batteries up to 130 ah?
  6. thanks for the input guys! i have decided to go for the motorguide wireless. found a good deal!
  7. After chatting to some other fishraiders I've decided to buy a motorguide wireless electric and i'm now trying to work out powering it etc. sorry bout all the questions, i just want to make sure i get the most out of the new toy. for a 140 ah battery what is the optimum amount of amps to charge it at? eg 7, 10, 15etc. is it worth buying a charger like a c tek which makes it fool proof for people like me who aren't sure? what chargers do you blokes use to charge your batteries? cheers guys
  8. Musty: I am seriously considering the motorguide wireless. what batteries do you need for the foot control? can you charge them when you charge up the main battery? cheers alex
  9. i did some research on the motorguide wireless and everyone says that the constant beeping drives you nuts, is this the case? the foot pedal looks cool but maybe not so practical, please correct me if i am wrong. with an on off button , a left or right button and a faster/slower button. does this mean that you have to be constantly turning it on and off even if all you need is a small nudge in a certain direction. I know with the jw motors there is left and right bottons, a speed wheel, and another switch connected to the middle botton that either allows constant motion or if you flip the switch it turns into a go/ stop button, that is realy handy. the motor guide probably does this also but the photo of the controls confused me. thanks for the input guys! cheers Alex
  10. I am trying to choose a reel in a 3500 or 4000 size. what's your opinion? Team advantage or Stradic?
  11. if it's your first time using something other than mono i would recomend something like fireline cause it's cheap and relatively user friendly in the light line classes, meaning under 12lb. also if your fishing in the sydney area there is no need for baitcasters, their only real advantage is in tropical snag infested creeks like you would find in the NT, where pin point accuracy for casting minnows is needed. cheers alex
  12. value for money, upgraded spheros!
  13. how do you measure your optimum shaft length on your motor? from which point to which point? another question, which batteries does everyone prefer? lead acid, glass mat, etc. and which is the best value for money? cheers alex ps. i found a watersnake 80lb, 54". for $1100.0 deal or no deal?
  14. depends on the size of boat and net and tackle used? it's not impossible, you have seen jaws havn't you!
  15. Mario, my boat is a 4.15m sp seajay tinny. it has relatively high sides for it's length so i'm not sure what length of shaft is needed. either 48" or 54". Also what is the difference between running the 54lb compared to a 70lb pound thrust motor, power wise, batteries, price, ect. also is autopilot a must or just a gimic? cheers alex
  16. no but i will have a look, do you have one? how much are they roughly?
  17. the dirty Grinner sorry but i hate those things!
  18. hey guys i am looking for a bow mount electric. since moving back to qld ive found myself fishing estuaries mostly and after fishing on a boat with an electric, it's now a must have. does anyone know where to get the best deal from, shop, internet etc. My mate has a jarvis watersnake and it seems quite good, also reliable. I'm trying to weigh up weather to get one of them or a min kota. I'm looking at around 50+ lbs of thrust so i can run it off a 12v battery. The watersnake is about half the price of the min kota i believe. any advice? cheers Alex
  19. i was looking at the 2500 jap model. you can import for a very good price
  20. daiwa freams? does anyone have one of these reels? what is your opinion of them? COME ON GUYS NEED SOME FEEDBACK!
  21. a few years back i did a marine tafe course at the brisbane institute. it was a diploma of fisheries compliance. in the course they covered everything from fishing legislation to master class five navigation including coxwains ticket and marine radio ticket. they also taught a lot of practical stuff and you even got some sea time in the tafe vessel for your log book. it was pretty cool in the fact that almost all the students were mad keen fisherman. the object of the course is to qualify you to be a fisheries officer. The problem is that there is very limited job prospects in the fisheries departments australia wide and the fact that you have to compete with uni students with honour degrees in marine biologymakes it almost impossible to get in. so obviously i am not a fisheries officer, but the knowledge learnt in the course was great for my boating and fishing skills. I'm glad i'm not working in that field anyway cause some of those blokes are on the nose.

    Slam Baits

have you tried "snap back" plastics. they are almost indestructable you can stretch them like a condom and they don't break. they also have a good action and they make stick baits too.
  23. go see tony at fishfinder and he will do the spheros and the upgrades for you, I did about a year ago and am very pleased with the reel. it will handle just about anything.
  24. you tell em mate, there is only so much whinging a man can take! wish i was there with ya.
