  2. Thats a huge calamari. I wish I knew where to find them in the hacking coz ive never gotten one
  3. yer shaun will do probs during the holidays for you. that is if i can get a day off they have me working nearly 25 days straight now
  4. Hey all, just a quick report about my exploits yesterday. After fitting my brand new first ever fishfinder I decided to go out to the hacking to get some nippers for a day trip with my 16yo daughter. Put in at wally's warf about 7.00 and headed out to mainbar. tryed for about 40 mins and got a few nipprs for the day out, then the wind picked up sounded around p/h and finally "saw" what the bottom looked like. No wonder I was never able to catch anything in the places i used to go. it is desolate and bloody deep lol. after drifting in southwest arm for a while I got my first ever legal taylor at 32cms yay!!. We pulled the pin at 11.00 with nothing else in the tank then went off to try como. Got there at a little past 12.00 and got a few small bream. then they came... the big bream 2 well over 35cms to me and i cant guess how big my daughters got as when it got colse the knot on the hook let go after that the water police came and accosted me again thats 6 times in 4 trips. good tosee them picking on people I mean looking at rego etc left at 2.30 no more fish but a gale blowing. At the boat ramp there were a couple of p platers parked on the ramp hanging out haveing a smoke and not moving for anybody so that just topped of an uneventful fishing trip
  5. lol i thought someone hacked my acc lololol btw try the baths in gunamatta bay they are one of my favs
  6. Just went on my first ever charter and all I can say is that I am glad I got to go. Left Gunamatta warf at 6.30am and strated to troll down to Mali beach for nothing, but stopped to bottom bash for a couple of hours. As this was the first time I have ever been able to do this it was fun. We got some red rock cod, i got my first ever maori wrasse and a few other species including a couple of hard pulling trevs. We also saw a couple of sharks swimming around for a feed. After that we went to the flathead gronds near Gary beach and did a few drifts for about 10 or so flatties. We then decided to troll for some tuna on the way home and got a good size stripey for our troubles. All in all a really good day out with a profesional mob and some good company. Maybe some pics of scenery to follow. P.s is there anywhere that a person could bottom bash for these species with out having to go outside of the heads?? Coz my boat is too small for the trip out there. chris
  7. Hey all Took the daughter out yesterday to get dinner. Started off getting some bait (nippers) then put in at oatley around 8am, anchored up near the como bridge and started losing baits straight away but didnt get any keepers till about 11 when I got a nice little lizard at about 37cms. 10mins later I get a big hit and statrd the drag going, after a nice little fight I finally bring in a 39cm whiting. this was the fattest fish I have ever seen and pulled like a train was a good test for the 4lb mono I was using. Anyway the bite totally stopped so we went off to drift around Tom Ugly's for a few lost baits but no takes then off to Captn Cooks to try there as I have never fished there except from the pontoon. We spent the next hour and half pulling in pinkies and called it a day at about 2pm.

lol brickman i work in retail and try to follow the same principles. I think that the biggest plus in this whole situation is that I am learning about fixing problems myself and not having others do it for me soon I will be able to build one from sticks and glue lol

    Bad Luck

For the last 2 trips I found that I have been taking a lot of water. I re fitted the motor and sikaflexed everything that needed it and thought that was fine, took it out today and still took a huge amount of water. Went over the hull with a fine tooth comb (again) and found that the person who sold me the boat with the broken engine also fixed a crack with tape and paint lol the paint stripped from the hole probably last time i took it out which is why I got wet anyway I bought a repair kit today and followed all the instruction properly and fixed it. The repair feels stronger than the rest of the boat lol probs coz I put 2 layers of glass and stuff on it. the question i have therefore is: will i get into trouble if i fire bomb the house that this dodgy bastard who sold me the boat lives in?? p.s wish me luk for tomorrow when i test it
  14. First report for a while Got up at 6am ready to catch the last of the tide in the hacking looking after a feed, got to the ramp 6.30ish and went for a drift in near wally's warf. Started getting bights on the nippers straight away but all I could pull in was a little yakka ( now I know where to find them lol ) put him in the bucket to use later, next drift I hook up to something that pulls the whiting rod over get it in and looks like a 28cm trev, chucked it back and tried again for a few more drifts with no luck. Move further up the hacking to lilly pilly for nothing south west arm for zero and a few other places for nothing might try the bay tomorrow and see if i can get some dinner .
  15. I took my boat over to the como bridge for a few hours on weds and got a few small taylor and a few bream upto 38cm. also got spooled by something on my baitcaster when trolling from the oatly ramp. hope this helps
  16. I will try to get the day off for this one now that the ss.prawnstar is up and running I will need a deckie as well pref one that knows the harbour as i dont
  17. lol yer i was thinking about that, is it even possible? thanks for all the feeedback guys. p.s went for a trip to the hacking today man that wind made it hard took no bait for the first time ever and didnt even get a bite for the 5 hrs I was out Prolly just the new boat bogey or just all the fresh water from all that rain
  18. Hi all, Just a quick continuation of the story of the new boat. As many would already know I recently purchased a second hand boat but got ripped off coz the motor was borked I had some help from some fellow raiders ie rob and stucatz for wich I am eternally grateful Anyway I have kept in contact with another raider who lives on the hawkesbury (name with held for privacy reasons) who was selling his 40hp merc, which I became the new owner of today. The engine bolted on beautifuly and even the steering was like it was set up for this new donk. Got it started and tested and YES it went onto gear with no probs. After the first test I thought that myself and my friend (who went up from Sydney with me ) should give it a bit of a speed test... Opened the throttle at the road bridge and got to the rail bridge in like 4 mins thats the fastest I think the little baby has ever gone !!!!!!!!!!! So now it looks like kingies this summer yay!!!!!!! I would like to thank all that helped and gave support during my time of need, and will post some pics when I actually take a camera with me maybe tomorrow if the weather is good. Chris
