Just a quick update, got the boat back with some stuff fixed put it in water and still no dice I have been told that its new motor time now, good first experiance buying a boat. oh well I should be able to get one soonish (just hope before next winter ) :(

just a quick update, I took the boat to robbie house today for a look , looks like bad news oh well thems the brakes prolly gonna be a long time before i can take it out now.

When I pulled it out of the water the prop spun when in gear but an hour or so later it didnt. there are no grinding noises and sometimes it feels like it goes into gear and sometimes not. I hope it doesnt cost much coz it took a year to save the small amt this one cost. p.s I remember someone saying that the prop shaft can come loose and that could be it . Ideas?

Hey all, I finally got enough $$ to get myself a first boat YAY!!! 3.96m runabout with a healthy 33hp on the back. Anyway took her out finally for the first time today after having it sit in the back yard for the past 2 weeks (had to get licence etc...) Anyway got to the dolans bay ramp abot 8am, put her in easy tied up to the pontoon, started her purred like a kitten. untied put into gear and nothing no forward no reverse zipo WTF!?!?!?! A nice guy from a mooring company who was working close by got us back to the pontoon and looked at it and said it looked like the gearbox is rooted :( are they cheap to replace or will a service get it fixed?? its an old 1970is model evenrude, any help would be nice. Chris

you can go for tyhe whiting or the snapper if I remember correctly, I moved up 5 yeares ago but wasnt too into fishing then

I find that the addition o aromatics does indeed help with these fish as it is like a mini berly trail. At least that is my thought on it.

Went out at 5.30 am to mainbar to get a supply of nippers for the day, they seeemed a little hard to get this morning for some reason but managed to get quite a few for me and the 3other guys. Got to the gunamatta baths at about 8am and started cating for very little between the 4 of us, just a few pinkies and small bream. At about 10am I see my rod starting to get lifted over the side (stupid me left the drag a bit tight ) any way after a short tussel I bring in my biggest bream of the season at 38.5cms YAY!!!! He was caught on chicken with parmasean and oyster sauce. Pic will follow when I can get one up. The only other keeper was a 28cm whiting. Apart fron those couple of fish it wasvery quiet today.
