  2. thanks for the info, what about the charger, what would be my best set up???
  3. Ha Ha!! great technique!!!! Might get a few black eyes though!!
  4. Hey everyone, you may remember my post of my personal best flattie of 80cm from the woy woy area- well today i didn't actually beat it, i got another 80cm monster!!!!! HA HA!!!! This one was caught on a 5" jerk shad poddy mullet around rip bridge. Also caught a 51cm, 42cm, and 4 other legals............ plus ........ my new PB bream at 40cm..... wait for it... on the same 5" jerk shad- never would of picked a bream to hit it! So great day on the water, the old lady went back to the depths to keep breeding, we got a good feed of flattie's, and my newly modified tinnie ws a dream ( the details in boating forum soon to come) One other thing i'd like to add- i am gettin so sick of seeing people taking bucket loads of undersize fish. I am seriously considering getting a fishing inspector uniform and making them put them back. I think we all need to be bold and let people know where they're goin wrong.

  6. nice work there, i'm surprised those salmon are still around!!!
  7. Thanks everyone for the help, don't worry, i won't be going anywhere near that famous nambucca bar with my 12foot tinnie!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nice little Jew there. So the one that snapped you off, you reckon she was a big girl???
  9. Just wondering if by chance if any of you knew if there is a boat ramp of sorts at Nambucca River? I'm staying at the lovely Scott's Head, wanting to get into some of the fishing on the river, but don't want to have to boat all the way up warrell creek to get to the river, figured i'll just head back into Macksville and around that way. Anyone's expertise would be greatly appreciated, Shan
  10. thanks mate, as i'm new to this site, i didn't know there wa a boating section!!!!!!!!!!! I've been putting all my boating talk in her. Sorry everyone.
  11. Thats very good to see. Keep up the reports and pics, and stop catching all my Jewie!!!!!!!!!
  12. holy moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hey everyone, been working hard on my boat, its coming along nicely, will do a big post real soon. I got a good Minn Kota off ebay and i'm just wondering if anyone has some tips on what battery and battery charger to get. I want something cheap on the pocket but with a good amount of endurance. It'll only be used for electric plus the occassional lights Davemmm- i tried to send you back a pm but it didn't work. Will try again later Shan
  14. Ok, cool, gotcha. Here's a picture of it...... what do you reckon?? Ok for the bow mount???
  15. this may sound really silly, but whats a floordeck?? Thanks for the help too
  16. Thanks for all your congrats!!!!! I had no 2nd thoughts putting her back, as you guys said, she's just too valuable to the system. It was quite amazing how big her head was. It was as big as my foot- i'm a size 12!!!! I should of taken a picture but when we netted her, the net came off second best and broke!!!! From the recent reports, i think we definatly are in for a good summer. Good fishing everyone!
  17. Went out with my good mate Mike McCarthy on Sunday morning. Drifted around the Woy Woy area throwing plastics on sand banks and up against mangroves. Started out with nearly beating my PB of 63cm with a nice 61cm flattie. After that, the day just got better. Got onto 9 or so between us,kept 6. I finished off the day with smashing my PB and landing this big girl at 80cm. Took a few happy snaps, and back she goes to keep breeding. All were taken on 3"power minnow in watermelon with 1/8oz jig, 6lb fireline with 8lb leader. PS- check out www.mikemccarthy.com.au for some great australian folk. He has 3 albums for sale (PS- i'm his drummer!)
  18. Hey guys, just letting you know i've decided to put in supporting benches like livo suggested, taking out the middle seat and adding the floor. I have a friend who has done this before so i'm in luck. Thanks once again for all your help. One more question- i'm looking into getting an electric motor. Am keen on the foot control, but i'm not sure if it has to be a bow mount to have the foot control function, and if my sort of tinnie will be able to have a bow mount???And if anyone knows where you can get killer deals on electric motors, that'd be great. Any help would be awesome, thanks, Shan
  19. also do a search in all forums , that might get you a bit of info
  20. and nice catch. Keep posting the good reports!!1
  21. Yeah i know, it was a steal!!!! Easily worth $1200 i reckon. And yeah, driveway is stupidly narrow!!!! Ok, so i've obviously decided, after everyone's wisdom, that i'm not taking the middle seat out. Would love to do your idea Livo but $ is not flowing freely! I know the obvious way to test this next question, is to actually put it in water and try it, but was wanting everyone's opinions -I really like the idea of having a floor from middle to front seat on seat level but wasn't sure if it'd be too rocky. It is a v-hull but a very flat looking one. Here is a rough picture of what the floor would be like, and also where i'll put the 2nd floor on bottom, and carpeting it all. You can see the flat bits on the frame where i could fasten the bottom floor, is this what they're here for?? Let us know what you think, thanks again, Shan
  22. Hey guys, thanks for all your comments. The boat is reasonably strong but yeah, i was a bit worried. About the idea about putting the floor on top of seats- thats what i was originally thinking of doing but i wasn't sure that the height i would be standing would make it less stable instead of having floor lower...... any thoughts??? I have no need for seats as i am lure fishing only -so if you guys think it wouldn't be too unstable with the floor on top of seats, then thats what i'll do. I'll have a look for that mag Dave and if i can't find it I'll PM you. Thanks once again eveyone for your help and input. Shan

  24. thanks so much Dave, that makes plenty of sense!!! Will be picking up that mag for sure. Do you know the actual name of the mag?? Once again, thanks for your ideas, they'll be put into good use. Shan
  25. unweighted yabbies are always a killer, but you will still have alot of peckers. For flattie, try any squidgy fish design up to 100mm in pretty much any colour..... well up to any size really!!!! They'll hit any size!!! Also, my personal favourite, the berkley power minnow in 3" or 4", pearl watermelon colour. The 3" is also a killer on bream aswell. Little squidgy wrigglers in bloodworm are a real classic for bream too. When i'm targeting flattie, i use a 1/4 oz jig head to stir up the sand and get there attention, if you're targeting bream and flattie on the 3" power minnow for eg, then an 1/8 or 1/16 oz jighead is the goods. For flattie, let plastic hit bottom, then your standard 2 mid-aggressive cranks off the bottom, let it sink back down, and keep watching your line for hits. Bream are the same but maybe tone it down a bit, not so aggressive. Hope this helps, i'm no expert though!! Shan
