went out today for a Sp throwing sesh.............. with my brand new bow mount i might add, and i don't know how i ever fished without it!!!! Me and my mate got around 13 flatties, most legal, including my mate's PB 61cm, and then a 55cm, a 51cm, and a 45cm. The rest were about on legal. They all lived though. Got 2 bream and 2 tailor. There was a bit of life, but i know it can get better. The rip has been producing just on, or around legal Jews...... so i've heard anyway.

Hey guys, my brand new minn kota powerdrive is arriving in morning!!!! The catch is that the store where i'm getting it from has taken too long to order it in and i'm off to hawkesbury on houseboat for the weekend and would love to have it installed by then. I'll be dropping in to the store in morning on te way and was wondering if you guys would know what tools i'd need to install it? Its a standard minn kota mount thingy..... Cheers

Hey guys, have gone with a powerdrive minn kota 40 lb bow mount for my modified 3.6 tinnie. Its fresh water but have been told that if i do something to do with anode , that it'll be fine??????????? Maybe someone here would know what i need to do, what that means, and how i'd go about it??????????

Hey Dave, actually on the prowl for bow mount. As the stability won't be a problem, i'm pretty keen on a bow mount. So you reckon there'd be no troubles mounting it on my bow??? ( picture of bow in original post)

well i kinda have, that report brisbane water cranking was my first outing in it with the 80 cm flattie and 40cm bream, not bad huh for the deflowering!!!!!!!!

I will be getting a good boat cover, but i have been told by alot of people that bond crete lasts along time, so i'm not worried. As i said in the post, the middle seat is for travelling and comes out when fishing. Also, as it says in post, the benches along the side stop the flex, they are fixed into the front and back seat.

Hey everyone, have been working on my boat for a while now and thought i'd do a post as there was a few guys keen to see the end result. The tinnie, trailor, 9.9hp mercury i got for $500 started out like this; With the help of my good mate Benny Nunn, we took out the middle seat, and put support benches along both sides to stop the flex (you can sit on these no worries- very strong) We then put the floor frame in, always aiming for less weight and minimal frame touching hull. Compartments were cut, so then came the fiddly job of carpeting. Added some holders in, Added a travelling seat for passenger that slips out for fishing floor space, and...... Bob's ya uncle. All was glued with good polyurethane stuff, all wood was sealed 4 coats with bond crete. The boat is now much more stable, 2 people can stand and move around very easily, even up the front, without feeling like ya goin overboard. Starting out with a transom mount which comes on monday, and will be upgrading to a bow mount Minn Kota, ( if anyone has any for sale!!!) Hope you guys like it, as i am wwwwrrrraaaappppppppeeeedddd with it!!!

PJ- i would love it if you were to write a short post on how to handle big fish with care to insure no damage is done to them I am one of those idiots you talked about in photos holding by the mouth. Handyman, i'm the topic starter of brisbane water cranking again, Shan777 Although my views on keeping big flattie are most definatly throw them back over 60cm as they are breeders and that they usually don't taste that great anyway, that doesn't mean you can't............ I have my own views but it doesn't mean you have to adopt my views or anyone else's. Now if someone posted a topic where they said got 2 legal flattie, and kept a 34cm one to make up a feed, now thats when i'd be cut, or when i see people taking bucket loads of undersize fish.
