  1. Just picked up this little gem with good trailor, motor, for $500!!!! Yes i know..... a steal..... you'll be happy to know i did feel bad.......... for a second or too!!!! Just need some advise. I'm thinking of taking out the middle seat, and putting a floor with carpet in there, adding a bow mount electric, making it a nice little spinning outfit. The boat is your standard 3 seater tinnie, 12odd ft. Would this compromise the strength of the hull in the middle? I'm not taking out the front and back seat so that should hold it together. Its a well built tinnie too. Any advise on the above and any rough tips on putting floor in would be great. Cheers everyone, Shan PS- sorry no photo, i'm on dial up for a few days and its not handling it.
  2. wow................ that was a massive amount of information, thank you a thousand. That will definatly get me into it!!!!! Thanks once again for taking the time to write such a big reply, and thanks to everyone else for your help- extremly appreciated!!!!
  3. Thank you ver much, i all helps. Can't wait to break my Jewie virginity!!!!!!!
  4. Hey everyone, wanting to get a few tips on spinning for the mysterious Jewie in the Hawkesbury. I usually fish plastics and for Jewie, i use a sqiudgy fish, 110mm in black and Gold, 10lb line with 17lb leader. The biggest area i need help in is locations and tides. I recently tried road bridge, rail bridge and Juno for many hours for nothing. Would anyone be able to help me with spots for the present conditions in the river, and appropiate tides. Also not sure where exactly to throw my plastics at rail bridge, how close to the pilons and which side of bridge in what tide. I know I'm asking alot but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks heaps, Shan
  5. Nice work, good to start to hear more from the Jewie in the river. What side of the bridge were you? East? Looking to throw some plastics down there but don't know where.
  6. nic fish, nice and fat by the looks of it
  7. it was due to a good electric motor, and it was at the bottom of the tide so the current was slowing down by the second.
  8. Not the most amazing of reports but here goes. Went out with my good musician mate Mike McCarthy. He has a great boat for soft plastic fishing so it was a big change from my leaking/rocking tinnie!!!! Did many drifts along the drop offs targeting flattie around Ettalong for only 3 legals and 1 under. The flattie haven't fully arived yet i don't think. Headed back to the rip bridge, and i though i'd target a jewie or big flattie, chucked a huuuggeeee squidgy fish (130mm), let it sink down with current, two cranks later, my line went straight a lightning speed, it was a very very good bite!!! Maybe even big taylor. Well here's what i pulled up- he just missed the hook Tight lines guys. Shan

  15. Well done guys, great catch. What a beautiful fish she was. I've gotta tell ya, i would love a dollar for how many times i've seen a nice little ambush spot for a flattie to sit next to a rock and said to my mate- there'll be a flattie.............. and as i'm casting right up next to it...... i say..'there!", and sure enough, probably 85%-90% of the time, there is!!!!
  16. Great work guys, and i really love the artistic display of the flatties!!! I was sitting there trying to make objects out of it as you do with clouds!!!
