  1. post-571-1249875548_thumb.jpgWent for a flattie spin in the Bay this morning very quite ,but conditions were great spent 4 hours spinning for 3 hits first 2 were about 45 cm the 3rd was 78cm the fish were very lethargic because of the cold water 13deg ,But I think the end of this month and next month is the time when you will get the bigger fish ??????????
  2. Good work Buster1 :thumbup: well done mate, persevering with different lures and pulling a couple of flathead out of what was a rather quiet morning I believe...I get pretty good feed back from Botany Bay and I must admit that I find your reports to be very reliable on what's actually happening down there...

    Looking back on your results this winter, I'd love to see the results when you decide to retire or do whatever needs to be done to be able spend more time out there fishing, that's for sure.....

    Cheers

    Mate I am retired and I fish at least once or twice a week , hope my reports are of use to you

    Cheers Garry :1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1:

  3. post-571-1249529839_thumb.jpgWent for a flatty spin in the Bay this morning great conditions even the water was a bit warmer than last week but the fish still did not want to play ,tried all the usual spots and a few new ones tried different lures and sizes nothing was working after a couple of hours I went back to spot A second cast came up solid on a good fish it was pretty lethargic until it saw the boat ,made a couple of short runs but I got it into the boat it went around 60cm ,but then it went quite again ,managed to get one more but it was only 45cm so it went back with its bigger sister , so it still quite in the Bay at the moment

    Thought I would take my new stradic for a flick in the Bay this morning,hit the water at 7.30 it was freezing ,went straight to spot x that has been very reliable last couple of trips but it was dead not hit in an hour , so I moved over to the first groyne at Brighton and got a big hit on the second drop thought it might have been a jew but it turned out to be 62cm king ,any way he bedded in the drag on the stradic , the next 3 hours went by without a single hit ,I tried every spot I know and every lure in the box for nought,decided to call it a day but thought I might give Woolaware Bay half an hour in the way back to the club and bingo again on the second drop a good solid hit and a good fight to the boat it was a 63cm flatty ,so I only 2 hits all morning but 2 good fish, both fish are still swiming :1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1:

  8. Mate that's a real nice croc you got there.

    Did you get her on the runout tide, and if so, the first half or the last half?

    I found the bite stopped for me on the second half of the runout and I'm not entirely sure if it was due to boat traffic or the tide stage itself... Well done for letting her go - you will have many more future generations of flatties to catch...

    I got those fish between 1pm and 2/15pm on the run in ,it dead untill then ,did you see that school of dolphins around Towra

  9. post-571-1245104196_thumb.jpgWent for a spin for flattys yesterday morning in the Bay late start ,got on the water at 10am managed a couple of small fish I moved around the Bay tried every type of gulp I had very slow till about 1pm then at spot xxx I got 5 fish in an hour first was legal but only just so it went back the next 3 were good fish that were between 45 and 50cms the last one was the fish of the day a very fit 65cm model it went back to ,so after a slow start it turned out pretty good :1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1:
  10. post-571-1244181535_thumb.jpgHit the Bay this morning late start about 7 30am ,was not to confident as the last 2 trips were pretty quite got to spot xx first cast gets a 50cm flatty 3rd cast gets another one and so it went the fish were on the bite got six fish in about an hour all good fish around 50 to 55cm ,thought well that’s enough for a feed so I went and tried a few other spots for a couple of small fish ,went back to spot xx the flatty’s were still on the bite got a 3 more kept 1 also got a salmon forgot to take a pic back at ramp at 11am great morning
  11. Top catch there Buster 1! What outfit is that by the way, it sure brought that jumping torpedo undone. I can tell the reel is a TD advantage but that's about it. Mind giving some details on your setup (line class, size etc)? Much appreciated :P

    The rod is a shimano t curve the reel is diawa advatage 2500 with 8lb fireline ,10lb nitlon fluoro carbon leader the lure is a berkley gulp 5inch jerk shad in camo with a 1/4 ounce jig head

    If there is any thing else I can help you with send me a pm Cheers Garry :1welcomeani::1welcomeani:

  12. post-571-1243976452_thumb.jpgLate post went for a spin in the bay on Monday, thought after all the rain and wind the flathead might be on the bite but it turned out to be dead managed a few small flattys and a couple of small bream,I was about give it away when what I thought was a school of tailor broke the water close to the boat so I flicked my SP into them and bingo a big hit I thought it was a rat king but a second later it jumped clear of the water and 10 minutes later I boated a large sambo so the day was not a complete loss ,a quick pic and he back on his way :1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1:
