Gday Phil Mate we just loved Vanuatu and will be going back for sure. We stayed at Le Lagon and Sunset Bungalows which were both fantastic. The charter I got was great but I like the sound of hiring mine own boat like you did. Arnt the locals great, must be some of the most friendly people anywhere. Where abouts around Vila were you fishing in the hire boat.

Martin Very professional charter. The company ran 3 boats, 2 blackwatch 40's and a 31 foot centre console which we were on. All top quality gear and lures and great service. Company was called Ocean Blue.

Thanks fellas. Yeah Vanuatu is a really top spot with fishing to match. The fishery is a very well kept one, Marlin are tag and release ONLY and the other sport fish are only kept until everyone one the boat has a feed. The govenment over there is set up so that all the tribal Chiefs have a large say and if they think a particular area is being over fished there have the power to close it down. Its the same with any environmental issue. They can close beaches to the public or an area of forest etc. Anyway due to a lucky twist of fate the resort we were at double booked us and has given us 5 nights accommidation free, so I'll be going back for sure. Gday all Just got back from a holiday to Vanuatu which was great. While there I went out on a share charter. The other bloke got a Blue Marlin about 100kg and I got a Wahoo about 10kg. Its an awesome place with awesome fishing, I'll be going back for sure.

Fished there last weekend. Lots of under size bream. I was only using bait, if you are into sp i think they could be the go. I fish in the Myall River between Jimmy's Beach and Corrie Island. Its an awesome part of the world.

Had a much bigger than expected night with some footy mates at Scone on Friday Night, so my mate and me didn't get on the water until about 10am. Hit the timber with spinner baits, no good at a few spots so kept on the move. We were drifting through some timber on the western side when my mate yells I'm on. After a spirited fight in comes a beautiful little bass around 30cm. No camera with me so took a snap with the phone and back he went. The very next cast and we're on again. This time we know it's a good fish and after a few tense moments up comes a horse of a bass. With the bite red hot he went straight back in with no photo, I'm kicking myself now because he must have been close to 50cm. But that was all she wrote, we tried a few other spots with no luck so called it a day. The weather was perfect and a couple of ripper bass and off the water about 1pm. Can't wait until the next trip. Weasel PS. I can't get the pic from my phone to my e-mail. Any help would be good.

Rugby Grand final on Saturday, little brothers 21st Saturday night, mad Sunday and mad Monday. Ohh dear.

No fishing again due to Footy. Only a coulpe of games to go. This weekend see the Mighty Scone Brumbies take on the Students From Newcastle Uni and then the Annual Scone Rugby Ball on Saturday night, so Sunday will be spent getting through the hangover .
