  3. Forgot to metion that i hired a boat towards in end of the week and trolled a cd11 around the habour and got a smallish Coral Trout about 30cm. Have heard of tuna and even marlin comming out of the habour.
  4. Gday Thanks for all the kind words. It is by far the most septacular fishing Ive ever done. I was almost sick of catching dollies, the best was about 15kg. The best best YFT was about 45kg. We also cought Wahoo and dog tooth and dropped 2 Marlin. We fished with "IN DEEP" charters which is owned and skippered by a local, which i think made all the difference because only 1 of the other charter boats got anything that day. The boat was a 28 foot Vision. Cost was $950 for the day between me and a mate. That include Skipper, 3 dekkies, food and drink and all gear. The gear was all top quality 30lb to 130lb. The pic of the tinnie, we were about 20 miles from port in rough seas and they boated a blue marlin that our skipper estemated at 100kg. they hook up then let the fish tow them around for an hour or so, then winch it in. If anyone would like any info just give me a yell. Weasel

    A New Poly

I'm heading down the coast on the weekend to look at a polycraft 4.55 centre console. Depending on what sort of trade in i can get for my old girl will determine what extras i can afford. I am after some feed back on poly's in general, good or bad, and 4 stroke v 2 stroke. I have always liked the quietness of the 4/ and the no smoke, but there is a fair price difference. Any help will be great, thanks. Weasel
  9. Any idea what sort of shark it was.

    Vanuatu

I have just returned from Vanuatu where a mate and me had 2 days out aboard "In Deep" a 28 foot game fisher. Over the 2 days we cought 3 Yellow Fin in the 40kg range, about 20 Mahi Mahi to 15kg, a good wahoo and a dog tooth tuna. Also we dropped 2 Marlin. The skipper/Owner is a local fella and was awsome, on day 1 we cought more fish than all the other charter boats combined. All the pics are on my mates camera so i will add them when he dose me a CD.

    Vanuatu

Back in January the girlfriend and me went on holiday to Vanuatu. To cut a long story short, there was a mix up with our accommadation. As compensation the resort gave us a free week. Any way we are flying out on Sunday arvo, taking my best mate and his wife with us. My mate and I have sole chartered a game charter boat for 2 days and to say Im excited is a massive under statment. Last time I was there i got a charter out and cought a marlin and a wahoo and that was ment to be low season. Anyway Ive packed the digi camera so hopefully will be posting some monster fish in a week or so.
  14. I do alot of carp fishing and find worms bread and corn the best bait. Use a simple rig, sinker shortish leader and a bream sized hook. burley with bread if you like but there are usually so many that its not neccessary. You can use fairly light gear as even th big ones can be fairly lazy.

  17. Maybe heading to Thredbo in the next little while. Thought I might have a crack at a trout. Never been there before, any advice, hints etc is much appreciated. Will be using spinning gear. Cheers Weasel
  18. Its hard to get apic because you a camera with no delay on the shutter
  19. Captain Pugwash, me and 3 mates were aboard Broadbill with Ross Hunter on Friday for a day Charter. Total tally was 19 Dollies, 1 stripped Tuna and a 130kg Black marlin which I was lucky enough to be in the chair for. All in all a great day out. (sorry no pics of the fish)
  20. Madsmc When fishing with worms I dont use burley, dosnt seem to be a need. The rivers up this way are so full of them. Once my uncle was driving the tractor accross the creek and picked one up the the tyre tread. We've shot them, netted them, court them every way you can. They are a real pest
  21. Worms bread corn in that order
  22. Have heard from a relieable source that the Kings are getting peppered by sharks.
  23. Rick I fish for bass alot, both in the rivers and at Glenbawn. I use spinerbaits almost all the time. I find purple ones the best. Hope that helps.
  24. Sat will hit the Allynd (spelling) River at Gresford for some wild bass. Sun go to glenbawn for the dam variety
