  1. Nice Fish, out of curiosity did you measure them. The second one looks that wide that it would cover the brag mat.
  2. After the great session Catch'n'release and I had on Saturday I was spurred on to have a quick flick this morning. Hit the bay at 7am and went to the spot where I got the 76cm croc on Saturday. Not long after arriving the I landed a 67cm fish. My dad then landed a nice bream and trevor on turtle back worms. They went of the bite and we moved to Towra where we landed a 52cm flattie and lots of small pinkies. Keep the below fish for a feed all the rest went back to grow bigger. Back in at 11am
  3. Its a shame that the fisheries were not out in Botany Bay today. Catch'n'release and I saw boats fishing in the sanctuary zone at Kurnell and blokes pulling in small fish that never went back in the water at Towra. They could have had a field day. What's the bet some of them didn't have licences.?
  4. Nice fish mat, will have to get out for a session when i get back in a couple of weeks.

    Lennox Head

On Holdiays in QLD with the family brought a beach and soft plastic rod. We are going to Lennox Heads next week. Does anyone have tips on a spots. Am considering a charter out of Ballina has anyone done one from there. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. My brother just sent me this. Don't know who they are but I bet it put up a fight. Like to see them get it out of the boat at the wharf.
  7. Headed out at 9am. Saw some fish busting the surface near Towra cast a plastic at them and was straight on, after a short battle landed a 42cm trevally. Moved around to a couple of locations without any luck. Went to a spot that has been lucky for me, first cast landed a nice 62cm flattie. Did a drift over the same spot and saw a flattie following the plastic, it grabbed it but did not hook up. Dropped it straight back down and it took it, it put up a decent fight and took me around the boat twice before I landed it. A quick measure 68cm I put it back for another day. Headed back in at 12pm. Sorry no pictures.
  8. Nice work Rod, looks great. I like the live bait tank.
  9. I need to replace the cable on my trailer winch, I have a strap type however the sides of the cable drum don't have a hole to fit the bolt that secures the end of the strap. The main drive gear forms one side of the drum so it cannot be secured to that side. Can it be done or how I should I secure it?
  10. Nice fish Gary. Went out this morning to the same spots as last week. Nothing except for two small taylor.
  11. Well done Gary. Both on Camo's I see. Is that rod a T-curve? Belly
  12. Nice Sambo Gary. Luv those Camo Gulp's.
  13. I like the tt switchblade in silver minnow, the whiting seem to love them, so does the carpet in the boat, clothing and tips of fingers. The only problem is that I have had to change the trebles when a barb broke. I fish them like plastics. Good luck.
  14. Headed out at 9am for a quick flick for flatties. Started near the hotwater outlet, before I left home my 6old son gave me an old Stickbait that he was given by the store attendant at a tackle store. I promised him that I would try it. Second cast I was on the drag started to scream and it took a large run taking a lot of 6lb braid of the reel. About 10 minutes later and a lot of runs, my father finally netted it. A quick measure and it went 67cm. My first legal king. Landed a couple of flatties and then dad got his PB Trevally 41cm on a plastic. Back in a 12.30 very pleased with the result. Carn't wait to have another go at them they put up such a great fight.
  15. Nice feed of flatties and a great bream. Like the new rod.
  16. Nice kingy would have put up a great fight on 4lb line. Well done.
  17. Nice feed of bream. I bet it took a while to clean all of those leather jackets.
  18. Paddy I don't use bait much any more, have you tried the hot water outlet used to catch trevally there with peeled prawns. Maybe a drift along the beachfront at Brighton could provide a flattie or two. Good luck Belly
  19. Wayde Its a Shimano Stradic 2500 on a T-Curve tournment. Its great for tossing plastics for flatties and bream. Cheers Belly
  20. I used a 1/8oz on this occasion as I was changing different plastic's. For me it depends on the conditions such as water depth, wind and casting distance required. I have used 1/16 as well. Wayde Its a Shimano Stradic 2500 on a Shimano T-Curve, 6lb braid 8lb leader. I goes well for bream and flatties.
  21. Went out at 6.30am was a bit brisk. Set a drift and my father landed a nice 46cm flattie and a 44cm model. I had three drop off. I then landed a 30cm flounder on 5’ jerk shad. Changed location and landed a couple of bream on blades. We then moved to a spot that my father wanted to try and I am glad he did. I rigged up with a turtleback worm first try with these after reading so many successful of robeebee‘s posts. First cast I hooked something as my drag started to scream and then the line went slack and I thought that I was off. I then noticed my line moving towards the boat and as I wound the line took off. A short time later I landed my PB bream 39cm. A big thanks Robeebee I probably won’t have tried them except for team turtlebacks results. Not long later a school of Kingies busted up near us and I cast at them and was on. My 6lb braid lasted about 10 secs. Re-rigged and put on one of my favourites (silver fox) and landed a nice 41cm trevally which put up a great fight. Landed one more flattie and called it a day.
  22. Nice feed of flatties, what plastic did the damage?
  23. I agree with throw me a fish squidgies hold up better. I have also had some success with blades on bream, flathead and whiting, you can use them like a plastic.
  24. I fished the Towra area Friday morning and found it slow going but managed to land three flatties all fell to pumkinseed gulp's.
