    My New Girl

Hi raiders, thought I would share with you the latest addition to my fleet. A nice Robalo R225 Walkaround with a 225Honda 4 on the back. Hope she serves me well.
  3. Saw this on the news last night. How freaky. The mongrels can eat through your stomach wall and get into your organs!!!. Makes me reconsider fresh Sashimi.
  4. Thats Magic!! Reef Magic!
  5. I agree with that, Bonito are one the nicest fish to eat fresh (sashimi). A very under-rated fish
  6. Hey Hodgey, i have one. They are a great action camera, I was dissapointed with the film quality in low light conditions but in sunny applications they are really good. Still images are not so good and the lack of LCD on the back can get annoying. They are, OK I guess.
  7. Thats a serious King. Nice.
  8. Nice one Hodgey, "public holiday boaters" we just need to put up with them I guess. Nice Flattie!
  9. Ella Chris!, that looks awesome mate. well done, nothing like a nice souvlaki! Yum Yum Yasoo!
  10. Hi George, mate, the wife made me build a kitchen sink in the garage!!! Hey Dicko, the ground is quite baron actually, there is nothing much to look out for on the sounder. It seems to be mixed gravel and sand and the occasional rocky patch. We fish in the 30-45 mtr mark straight out the heads, so your info is spot on mate! we also catch the occasional snapper. There were no jackets at all!
  11. Hi Raiders, went out for some bread and butter fishing on Sunday. We landed over 40 flatties within a few hrs, for every 3 undersize we managed a keeper. Ended up with 12 nice fish. BillF nabbed a nice 60cm job at 1.2Kg, but the rest were perfect for the table. Winter time is a great time for offshore flatties, get amongst it!
  12. Hi mate, I had a 455 side console and mounted a live bait tank on the port side swim platform, worked well. As for the rigger, your probably better off using a gimble mount type, the plastic does flex.
  13. Hey there, the Outrage 230's are a VERY sort after boat, both in Aus and USA. You will pay a premium for this type of boat in the US as they sell well, also it is summer over there at the moment and they dont last as long. Do your self a favour, wait till it cools down as you can often nab a bargain in winter time. Make sure you look into all the costs, and purchase a new trailer built to AU specs as this will save you a lot of heartache. Last thing, make sure you trust who your dealing with! The Yankies have cottoned onto us Aussies buying their boats for a premium and whilst there are many trustworthy brokers and dealers out there, there are some that are in it for a quick buck! Good luck with search and PM me if you want any information.
  14. Nice vid guys, was the camera ou used a GoPro?

    Robalo Boats

Happy searching Doggers, Ive been interested in that particular model also. Really nice boat. Keep me posted on your search mate, PM me if you find something, I would be keen to know what it costs you to get here, I recon the Robalo r225 is a really nice looking boat, matched with outstanding handling you could not go wrong. Good Luck.

    Robalo Boats

Doggers, maybe you can see craig about a Haines, im not sure about them being a better boat than a Robalo , but I recon they are the best Australian built glass boat. Width is an issue also, however most of the yankie 23's are the same, and you can actually buy a permit to tow them. The smaller 20ft boats like Key West are within width regulations... Happy searching mate.

    Robalo Boats

The newer ones are supposedly better than the older models. I wont bang on too much about SeaFox I know a few people that own them , all i can say is I would not buy one. If you cant afford a Robalo, look at the other brands you mention, I think you will be happier with your purchase.

    Robalo Boats

Hi Doggers, Seaswirl, Trophy, Sea Pro and the like are all great boats however they are not in the same league of build and quality as a Robalo. Robalo's were never marketed in Australia hence the uncertainty of the brand, you may find that resale value wont be as good as a Trophy for this reason. I can tell you from experience (Ive been in both boats), they are not comparable. Robalo are a heavy constructed boat. To give you an idea, the boats you mention are a "Mid Range" boats if your talking US standards, there are worse, but there are definitely a lot better.

    Robalo Boats

Hi Doggers, Robalo boats are made in the US under the chaparral boat builders brand. Chaparral boats make High quality recreational bow riders, probably one of the best made boats in the USA. As for Robalo, they also are made to very high standards, well constructed solid boats. They are very well respected in the US and are comparable to the likes of Grady, whaler, Persuit and Contender. They have outstanding seas keeping abilities. The model you refer to is more a family fisher, the deckspace is not too big however if your looking for a crossover between a fisher and family boat they are a VERY nice boat indeed. Hope this helps.
  21. Should be no more that a few days to clear. Dont try and Tow it, the coppers wait around the corner and you WILL be fined 550 for unregistered vehicle. Im talking from experience.
  22. thanks mate, Ive had a few PMs about the type of boat so I have attached a pic. Craig, from Hewit Marine actually sells these guys new. Mine is an old girl though. As for the song, its called "rock it" by Little Red
  23. Hey Simon, hows tricks. its a little Haines Sea Wasp with a 40 Yammy on the back... does 32 knots, hence im wearing a jacket! Hope your well
  24. Thats a secret mate, its near water.
  25. Hi Raiders, i had a frustrating time on Saturday, flicked around various markers and reefs and could not manage a hook up. I could see the Kings chasing the lure all the way to the boat. Check out this little Vid, i slowed down the vido where you can see the King hit the Lure, it pinged me straight away. that will teach me, trying to catch kings on my 4 pound Flattie gear! lol. All in all a bit of fun. http://billyd.com.au/haines/
