  1. Hi Raiders, as Many of you know I am about to pick up my boat that has been imported from the states however a few people have made it evident to me that I will need to change the coupling as the one on the trailer will be 2Inch and not 50mm? A pic is attached. Can anyone share some light on this issue?
  2. email them to me garry, ill sort it out.
  3. Hey Steve I saw that yesterday also, Mine isnt on that one unfortunately!
  4. This is so true, a mate of mine has a boat coming on the same ship and he has not yet received his trailer permit. He has been advised that he has 2 options. 1. Store the boat at the docs at a ridiculous daily rate. 2. dispose of the trailer and scrap it!. If anyone is considering importing a boat on a trailer. MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW 2 months Minimum for the permit to arrive for the trailer.
  5. thats awesome mate, always happens when you least expect it. Nice one!

Lucky Stu! Something a lot of people overlook!
  7. Well, it has nearly been 2 Months since my initial post and a lot has happened. Firstly I have chosed to ditch the container and send the boat via RORO (Roll on Roll Off) therefor I will only be bringing in the seaswirl. Im very excited because the boat will be arriving on Sunday night so hopefully I will see it some time next week. I have only Just received my trailer import approval today! This could have been a major drama as they will not release the trailer without it. So far the whole process has gone really smooth (whilst a bit longer than anticipated). I will keep you all posted on what the costs are when the boat lands and will be sending pics of her when she gets here. Ciao for now.

  16. Hey Raiders, Im wondering if anyone has a favourite method for cleaning fibreglass decks. No matter how much i scrub mine with soap and water it never looks good enough, small stains, small rust spots from ss contact, etc etc. Can you use bleach? a mate recommended Once of Bam? I purchased some great rust stain remover that has worked wonders on the spot stains but im just looking for a good way to clean the deck! I have tried: Soap and mater. De-greaser and water And it just aint good enough. Any Suggestions?
  17. Hi Raiders, im looking for some advice for a mate. He called me yesterday explaining that his 1999 200HP Evinrude 2 stroke is showing no compression in 1 cylinder. Apparently it starts and runs but is a bit lumpy. Does anyone know what the costs would be (roughly) to repair this? Im guessing its time to upgrade. Any help would be great.
  18. Thanks for the comments guys, it really is satisfying seeing a kid so happy to catch such a little fish. Keflapod, to my suprise she asked if we could cook it. At the time I had the frypan and sausages going and she asked if we could plonk the fish straight on. I explained to her the rules and she was happy to let it go. Like you said, she will probably make me throw back the keepers now.
  19. Sorry I just couldnt resist! However im telling the truth! Yesterday, I was one very proud dad! you see, my daughter has not really been keen on heading out on the boat with me so I have never really pushed my luck thinking that in time, she would let me know when she wanted to come. Last week before bed Olivia said, "Dad, i want to catch a fish!" you can imagine how excited I was, here was a barbie obsessed 5 YO tellimg me what i wanted to hear. So quite calmly I replied "no worries sweetie, if you still want to go by the weekend let me know and we will go and catch you a fish!" Well that was Monday, throughout the week there was no mention of fishing, I baited her imagination as much as possible, watched Finding Nemo over and over, strategically placing fishing mags in her room and even placed her hot pink rod and reel near her door, but nothing!. Sunday morning rolls in and you guessed it! "Dad, are we going now?" and with that, I was in full swing! I hitched the boat and headed for the ramp. Well the rest is history, Olivia landed her PB Snapper (ok, its a squire. I didnt want to down play it) and she was VERY excited. So, here's to a new fishing buddy for life. Im looking forward to Olivia beating her PB. I dont think it will be difficult. Billyd
