  1. Where are ya' Crunchie, interested to hear the outcome mate - if there was one? Cheers Pukk'
  2. That colour and the 309 (orange belly) are my faves Great t'hear there's more coming Tony. Joe
  3. Fantastic bream Ken, 45cm to the fork is an absolute STONKER of a bream! Joe P.S. Another 11cm to the record??? Did I miss a 56cm fork bream somewhere!
  4. Problem is with upper middle harbour, it is hard to fish to begin with and the first place to close down when the water temp' drops. Summer after a good rain is probably the best time, but I would've thought the rain we've had recently might have turned on some fish... maybe not. Pukka
  5. I'll be up the coast attending a friends 50th. Prob' won't get much fishing in, if at all, so I'm gonna be a very unhappy Pukka come Monday.. ... all week working like a dog and no time to fish then the weekend comes and I still can't fish! Jeez, I'm gonna be climbing the walls soon! Oh well, good luck to all those heading out, have a great time! Pukka
  6. I started off spinning using HB's, then SP's came along and I was converted to almost 100% SP fishing. In the last couple of years however, I've taken up HB throwing again and these days I never go out without at least a few hard bodies in my bag. Pukk'
  7. Can't fault you for trying Aaron. All the places you mentioned hold fish, but like any spot they have their quiet periods too. Keep goin' back and and you'll eventually find 'em. BTW Fig Tree Bridge on the north side is where a lot of the spinning guys go. There's a large sandflat there you can get onto at low tide. Pukka
  8. Not good Crunchie, but glad to hear Club Marine were great and got you out of a spot. I'd like to know the trailer lock you had too, I use Roseville ramp a fair bit. Pukka
  9. Errrmmm... I got mee threads mixed up, duh! My 2 posts were referring to SX-40's not 48's... ahem, my apologies. ... speaking of SX-48's, my fave colour would also be one that is sadly no longer available and that's one with all gold sides and black back. I much prefer the owner trebles on the new version tho'. Joe
  10. I chose 307, but out of the original colours it's a toss-up for mine between 305 and 307. 305 is the one I turn to most in dirty water and 305 I like using in the clearer stuff. 308 and 309 out of the new range are sensational colours as well. As Tony mentioned, the new colours are in short supply at the moment and I've only had the chance to throw the 309 colour once at Forster just recently after Lance kindly lent me one. The 309, along with the 308, are very sought after colours on the tournament circuit. There were a few competitors at Forster desperate for SX-40's in the 309 colour, including some very well known hard-body breamers. Pukk'
  11. I don't have photographic reference Andrew, but I can tell you which colour codes the new ones are. 308 - silver/light purple sides, darker purple back 309 - yellow/blue/green sides (hard to describe) with darker stripes, dark back, orange underbelly 310 - green back, dots along lateral line, lighter grey underbelly 313 - Matt yellow/green, darker back, randomly spotted upper sides and yellow belly Joe
  12. Hi Evan, Nice t'see the Daiwa site up and running, any more news on the Battler Limited arrivals??? Joe
  13. Great report and great bag of fish Mike, well done mate sure makes up for the bust-offs you've been getting. Whatta' time of year this is for the breambo's eh? I'm itching to get out there - bloody work! Joe
  14. Flying the Ecogear flag with Lance S. at the Forster Megabucks this weekend, hopefully we'll find a few and get in the prizes, should be fun! Have a good one fellas'! Pukk'
  15. Great report Mike, and well written as always! Good t'see you guys on the water and glad you got into a few fish. If it's any compensation Mike, if you're busting up on good fish you're obviously doing something right to get the opportunity to break-off in the first place. Law of averages says one of those 'thumpers' is on the cards for you down the track and I hope I'm there when you get it The Parra' is really fishing well at the moment, may it long continue! I didn't catch many really big bream on the day I saw you, most being around the 28cm mark. The 'hits' were pretty frequent however, and I was happy to accumulate a good bag of fish by the end of the session. Here's the pic' which you took of my best fish of the day, thank you for saving me the hassle of the self timer. Joe

I win first prize in the lure guessing comp'! B*gger off JD!
  18. .. you're not wrong Jethro, I had a couple of big Krispy Kremes last year on the Manning and needless to say I found it extremely tough and it was a long drive home. We reached the stage where we were 'wetting ourselves' over spotting a 28cm fish! "... sh*t, don't move it's legal!!!" The only positive I can see, out of a comp' as tough as this one, is that it 'levels the playing field' a fair bit. You only have to get a small bag to be in with a shout. Pukk' p.s. my apologies, I should have said... thank you for the report Jethro, good read and I recognised most of the areas you described.
  19. 2nd place at the Glenbawn ABT bass round and qualification for the grand final - woo hoo! "now that's what I'm talkin' about!!" :D Fabulous fishin' Mick, well done mate... and they don't even have oyster racks at Glenbawn Joe

P.S. What lure is that? Looks a little like a River2Sea Static Shed if I'm not mistaken??

Lovely lil'bass lesta and nice photo too! Congrats' on your first bass, I'm sure it will be the first of many Pukka
  22. Great report Byron, shame you guys didn't get onto as many as you'd hoped, but at least you were out there tryin'! Joe
  23. I've always been 'big', dunno about the 'gun' bit tho' I'll fish the Sydney event definately, maybe the Hawkes' and hopefully one of the bass rounds. Joe
  24. The comps' are a lot more relaxed than the ABT's, but still have a bit of a competitive edge.. they're a little like how I'd imagine a club comp' to be run, just on a bigger scale. The Pro Bass and Pro Bream rounds still attract a few 'big guns', but not quite as many as you may find in the ABT rounds. Joe
