  1. kingfish sashimi..... hmmm yummmmm reminds me of last year's summer. Fishing everyday, and sometimes we eat the fish raw while cleaning it. I think they are best fresh, they taste different if you keep it overnight. Bonito, kingfish, watson's leaping bonito they're all good raw. I heard trevs are good too but haven't got a chance to eat it.

    New Laptop

I agree with Haraka. Don't bother with DELL they use cheap components and that article shows it all get a Toshiba they're excellent machines, Samsung notebook is fairly new but they have excellent LCD display. HP is not too bad I recently bought a HP machine and been quite happy with it. If you have a bit of money get a Fujitsu machine. You might want to get something that's ready for Windows Vista, so dual core processor, 1gb ram, at least 80gb hard drive, independent graphics card instead of shared. I heard Vista is very high demanding operating system. If you want to play games, an independent graphics card is a MUST. Have a look at the Toshiba Tecra A6 or A7. Feel free to ask more questions, I sell computers for a living so I should be able to answer them
  3. like everyone else that replies. Independent Outboards are the way to go.. I live in Concord and drive all the way there to service my engine. very well priced, friendly and professional service.
  4. speaking about crime in sydney..... on sunday when I came back from watching the STC bream comp at Bayview Park in Concord... as I opened the door I saw a burglar inside my house I chased him out of the house and hit him in the face once. The bastard stole my mobile phone and my watch, I would've lost my video camera and my fishing bag if I come any later.
  5. Independent Outboards did my outboard service last year and I was very happy with their service. I've compared a few places ard sydney for a 50hr service on my engine and found them to be the cheapest. They are also Yamaha PLATINUM dealer

    Trailer Lights

Thanks for the reply guys. I currently have submersible lights, the connections looks a bit corroded, (I guess they're not really submersible ) Who makes goods submersible lights ? I think I'll rewire and do everything again. I hope there's no soldering involved when replacing them, I'm really crap at soldering.

    Trailer Lights

I just realized from the last fishing trip that my trailer lights are stuffed, I've checked the bulbs they seem to be fine. I've checked the connectors from the car and they are also fine(they still give 12V when the brake pedals are pushed) My guess is that the cables are on the trailer itself are faulty there must be an open circuit somewhere. Any other suggestions as what else could be wrong ? Where can I get the trailer light cables ? worse come to worse I'll re-wire the whole trailer myself. Thanks
  12. Nice !!! I want some of that on my bream stick

  15. G'day, Went fishing this morning with my girlfriend. Started at a late 8am, we went far out to clifton gardens then to north head and stopped over at a small bay to have some lunch. I was particulary searching for some surface activity... but didn't see any. On the way back to H&C bay I saw a small surface activity with 2 birds hovering around the water, then I started casting my trusty 3" Pearl Watermelon. First few casts didn't catch me anything... then suddenly there's a hard jerk. WOoooo Hoooooo !!! My first thought it was a salmon... but after 2 minutes into the fight I know it's my favourite fish of all time mr.seriola lalandi. There was at least another kingfish following the one I hooked up. When the fish got close into the boat I realized that I only brought my small environet and my girlfriend have never net a fish before... luckily she didn't let the fish go. The king measured 62cm, 3cm short from my PB but nevertheless it was my first king on lure. Here's the pics Merry Christmas raiders... and tight lines for this summer season.
  16. well done !! sounds like alot of fun just by reading it.
  17. that's gonna give you a heart attack for sure... there was once where I was at cliftons and saw a BIG school of kingies surfacing just teasing around. and as for losing them under the wharf happened to me to quite a lot of times too. Still waiting for the day to land a king from the wharf using a bream stick...
  18. I think I saw you guys on Sunday. We were on the small fibreglass boat that went back and forth to anchor up properly. My mate had a couple of hits, and myself had a decent run for a few seconds, they all spat their hooks after a few seconds
  19. After I started my new job 2 months ago I didn't have a chance to fish, and I was dying to catch something. Well today was supposed to be a day out on the harbour on my boat. I blamed myself for not turning the alarm on, by the time I woke up it was already 6am. I decided to give my land based spot a go somewhere in the harbour, it's been months since I visited that place. Tried some cubed pilchards in the morning but nothing seems to be biting. I switched to soft plastics. A guy hooked up a nice salmon but it got away. A few minutes later there was a small school of salmon haunting the baitfish but they didn't stay long enough. I hooked up something decent and it went for a few short run, and then my 10lb leader burst !! After a quiet few hours and a cup of coffee, I managed to land a nice flattie around 50cm. Not long after that something pulled my line hard !! big time... the drag sound on the certate was realllll nice .... After a short tussle i pulled out a 48cm trevally. Didn't have my digicam with me so I had to take a picture with my phone. All in all it wasn't a bad day fishing, a nice break from work.
  20. he landed one yesterday... if the guy talking to you is a lebo tht's gotta be my friend
  21. good to hear that clifton is firing. Just received an sms from my mate who landed a kingie there yesterday
  22. well done again mate... !!! good job !!! fishing with eiffel tower and the alps in the background eh ? I went to Sydney Aquarium today and saw a few big jewies there too heheh, half the time I was there my hands were itching to cast a lure at those big uns.
