  1. We found some bait in 60 fathoms & pulled him off that on a lure. The water temp was in the mid 21's. Cheers Damo
  2. Hi mate.. we have a few charters before we head to Port but im sure we could get you out between now & new year. Why not put a post up and see if you can get a crew together. Cheers Damo
  3. After all the working we have been doing fitting the new Furuno gear aboard Reef Magic we were finally able to get back out today to do our first charter for the marlin season off Sydney before we head to Port Stephens and managed to catch & release a nice black marlin for our clients. Cheers Damo
  4. Hi guys, Here are the first dates available aboard Reef Magic in Port Stephens. We have decided to head up & start charters early this year due to the good run of early season marlin over the past 2 seasons & with the fishing up north being red hot we are looking forward to a bumper season of Port. Either reply back up on here or give me a call on 0407113349 to make a booking. I will put a couple of days up for a group charter for people who cannot get a full crew together. January Dates Sunday the 4th Monday the 5th Tuesday the 6th Saturday the 10th Sunday the 11th (group charter) Saturday the 17th Sunday the 18th Saturday the 24th Sunday the 25th Cheers Damo
  5. Hi guys, While the fishing has been slow off Sydney we have taken the chance to upgrade the electronics onboard including the latest Furuno sounder to go with our 585 & the new chartplotter & radar as well as taking a break away from fishing. The electronics will be completed by next week and we are looking forward to getting back out off Sydney chasing beakies before heading to Port Stephens in mid January 2015. This year we will be moored at d'Albora marina at Nelson Bay & are now taking bookings for charters. If your interested in a charter email back up here or give me a call on 0407 113349. This year we will also off the Interclub Competition for charter - this is a 4 day event over 2 weekends in Port Stephens in late February. We are already booked out for the Billfish Shootout. Cheers Damo
  6. North & south around browns. Fast moving schools popping up. Need to be in the right place at the right time Cheers Damo
  7. Good yellowfin off Sydney today in the 30kg range Cheers Damo
  8. Some very interesting points being made in this post. About 4 seasons ago we were on the southern canyons with the forecast to blow 15 from the SE but at 4pm a little NW started to puff... at around 25 knots with gusts up to 40. It was so short and sharp us & the other two game boats with us had to cut across it until we were off the Gong & were able to run up under the cliffs with protection. It can turn nasty very quickly & have seen boats go down in 30 seconds. Cheers Damo
  9. Well great reports from the commercial fleet off Sydney over the last couple of days & with the full moon approaching it should only improve. The yellowfin will be the better fish to target but there is the odd bluefin still amoungst them but with the yellowfin showing up the albacore will also turn up.. often in great numbers. Check the charts it's not to hard to work out where the fish will congregate its just about being in the right place at the right time. Get out there guys while the weather is great & find those temp breaks & cubing could be the best option or sinking deep livebaits. Cheers Damo
  10. I believe it took around 30 minutes & was caught on SGFC boat Tantrum Cheers Damo
  11. Here is a picture of the 143.7kg on 15kg line. A great effort by Karen on Tantrum Cheers Damo
  12. Those bottle nose tuna don't taste great! The fish on Tantrum went 143.7kg Cheers Damo
  13. Hi guys.. Quiet for us the last 2 days on the bluefin front but there are still the odd patch coming to the surface & some big fish amoungst them. One was weighed at SGFC that went 135kg yesterday & Karen on Tantrum caught a big fish estimated at 125kg on 15kg on dusk tonight... a possible women's Australian record as it hasn't been weighed yet. Plenty of gemmies & makos on the mountain though. We will be back out tomorrow. Cheers Damo
  14. Longliners have been wide off Bermi. They are fast running out of quota though. Cheers Damo
