  1. Plenty caught today with boats going 5+
  2. Hey guys sorry for the late report. The 2 interclub days were not breaking any records but with 130 boats fish are going to be fish caught. The radio was solid on the saturday with both marlin & yellowfin being tagged & captured. Yellowfin up to 35kg were encountered both days by numerous boats some tagging up to 12 per sked. This week we haven't been out but the fishing is consisting of 1 or 2 fish a day per boat. Still great fishing in any part of the world. Port this year is hotting up & if those warm waters push in close do be surprised over the coming weeks to see a good bite of black marlin on the inshore reefs. The wider grounds are holding great numbers of medium size blacks of 70-120kg which are proving a handful for many anglers. Hope you guys that have been out have done well & we will be back out next week for 4 days do will let you know how we go. Cheers Damo
  3. G'day mate yes we are still looking for guys. Give me a call if your keen. Cheers Damo 0407113349
  4. The bite has been steady this week with boats going ones & twos. Today fished ok with lead boats tagging 3-4 fish. Cheers Damo
  5. Hey guys that weather looks great for next Thursday if your keen. Cheers Damo
  6. Hi guys, Were are looking for 4 raiders to fill a crew with raider dtrojan. He is keen for any day next week. We will make the cost a bit cheaper at $350 per head. If your keen post back up here and we can sort out a day. Cheers Damo 0407113349
  7. Hey guys.. Well the fishing gods didn't shine on us as we headed towards Fiji yesterday, wide the current was pushing 3 knots to the south & we hit 26 degree & purple blue water looking for the big blue marlin we were after to win the Shootout. . We did manage a nice yellowfin about 45 miles out around a pod of whales. Biggest fish from saturday didn't get beaten & the boys on Casey took that out & Sydney boat Smartbill won tag & release I think with 6 fish. Fishing wasn't hot but with 101 boats in the comp the radio was pretty consistent with boats tagging fish & plenty of boats hooked & lost fish over the weekend. We just had some great news from the Gold Coast area where the fishing has been very good & if the currents continue to push down the coast the fishing should only improve a lead to good fishing for the next few months. Cheers Damo
  8. Hey guys.. well today was tough leaving the wharf at 4am to get up off the seal rocks canyons for start fishing at 8am. Wind was 15-20 out of the north and we ploughed straight into it. All the big lures went in & we had a nice fish on around 9am be managed to jump him off followed by a little black at 10am around 110kg that we tagged & released. Sadly we didn't see another fish especially the big blue we were chasing. Leading boat tag & release had 3 fish & biggest blue weighed so far is 174kg. Easily beatable & we will be back out there tomorrow looking for a 200+ fish. Cheers Damo
  9. Hey mate.. well done on the fish yesterday. That's good fishing as in general it was quiet with a lot of boats not seeing a fish from our reports. Did you get the fish livebaiting? Look forward to seeing you on board on the 8th. Cheers Damo
  10. Fishing was slower today but we went 2-2-1 losing our second fish at the boat when the circle hook pulled. Cheers Damo
  11. We fished last Saturday with all the other boats & there was plenty of bait about but the fishing was slow. We managed 2 quick bites in the morning put the hooks in 1 of them but managed to jump him off. Thanks to Scratchie who came on board for the day to help out. Hopefully we were able to help you with a few tips that let you catch yourself more marlin in the future with your kids. Well the boys were out today & the bite was consistent for them all day. Unfortunately for us they only manage 1 from 6 bites but was promising to see the fish back on the bite. The fish are mainly small blacks around 60kg & unfortunately sometimes they love to play with the bait & not swallow it which makes it very hard to set the circle hook. Anyway they are back out tomorrow then in heading up with raider Secho who is fishing in the Shootout with us. Good luck if you get out! Cheers Damo
  12. Hey Stickybeak... The underwater shots are stills taken from gopro footage. Cheers Damo
  13. G'day guys, Fishing has been up & down but the warmer water is starting to push in. We are out tomorrow & Thursday then fishing the Billfish Shootout on Saturday & Sunday. We are offering a Monday - Friday special deal for 2 consecutive days. Normally $1900 per day we are offering the 2 days for only $3200. You won't get a better deal anywhere. Let me know if your interested. Cheers Damo 0407113349
  14. That must have been heart breaking for you.. Don't jump to conclusions that it was dead thou. On 37kg you probably would have still been able to winch it up with the right drag pressure. We fought & tagged a 300+ kg blue 2 seasons ago off Port Stephens. It took the angler almost 4 hours to get the fish up & dragged us 12 miles to sea from where we hooked it after we tried every trick in the book to get it's head up. It took it's first jump after 3.75 hours right at the back of the boat on the leader & that's when we realized how big it was. But yes it could have died... did it jump much at the start? This can often be when they exhaust themselves & go deep & die. Your report said it came up after 15 minutes so it could just have been a big crafty bugger pacing himself. There is an old saying that once you pass 3 hours fighting the fish wins the battle 90% of the time. Hope you catch your next one! Cheers Damo
  15. Hey Peter... Nice shot of the striped marlin. If they are tags they are terrible shots. I think you will find they are remora not tags in the fish. Cheers Damo
  16. Reef Magic will be out on Saturday as well. Cheers Damo
  17. Hey guys we are heading up to Port Stephens on Thursday & still have this Sunday the 9th available for charter. Cheers Damo
  18. Next weekend looks perfect. We will be there chartering Saturdsy & hopefully Sunday. Cheers Damo
  19. Hey mate...your port firing might be misleaded as from what we have heard 1 boat got 5 fish on lures & a boat traveling to port may have tagged 7 on the way. But as far as port firing there were more lures caught trolling than live baitin & in general it was very quiet. It should improve as the moon decreases as I said & hopefully the Shootout will fire. But once again I wouldn't go any where else but Port if you really want a consistant chance of catching fish on a day to day basis & I really think you really answered your own question. Another 7 hours of travel is nothing chasing the ultimate prize. Anyway if you do end up in Port give us a call on 0407113349 and we will catch up for a beer. Cheers Damo
  20. We fished today off Sydney & dropped 2 fish. The reports on the radio from the big fish bonanza were slow with boats further north of us & a few on the carpark struggling to find fish. There were a few marlin & the odd tiger shark caught but where we were off Sydney fished well. Around us we had Murrifin who I think dropped a marlin & got a nice dollie, Watergirl caught a few dollies off the traps, Makira I think lost a fish at the boat but the boat of the day was the boys on Huntress a 30ft Pursuit who went 2 from 2 striped marlin as well as a few dollies. Water was patchy but if you found the good water you found a fish. Unfortunately for us the hooks didn't stay connected but it was still good to see a few fish about. Judging by radio reports today I don't think further south was great today & we could also hear the boats off Port to the north & it didn't sound like it was firing however we do have a full moon & the fishing should improve later this week off Sydney & Port. Reports from Narooma which is my home port have been slow but still the odd fish about. To answer your question I would head to Port Stephens as it should only improve. Cheers Damo
  21. Pity your not booked with us but hopefully you have a great few days out. Give us a call next time. We are more than competitive for price & offer a quality boat & crew. Cheers Damo
