  1. Hi Mate ... I was out there on sat and yes the water temp was bout 21.3 this did seem to make the fish run a lil slower and less intense .. but hey whose complaining lol we managed to boat a few yellow fin and late at night we managed to pick some up on cubes ... We also hooked a striped marlin whilst cubing ... GO FIGURE a marlin on a cube ... needless to say it was lost after bout 20 mins on 15kg and 60lb leader ... all on video though so atleast we saw the 2 jumps and captured it on film .. what a sight we got majority of our fin on live pillies too ... dunno must of been the temp ..
  2. awesome to see the stripeys in early and going hard ... i dont usually fish off cronulla so i was wondering if you may help ... what is the best boat ramp to launch from when heading out and is that garie beach heads you where referring to ... Nice work mate hopefully a few more tuna will follow ... Gotta love the little speedsters
  3. MAAAAAATE.... I think in a few years it will be Mini Magoo onto the marlin and smashing records ... move over Armon there is a new star on show... Well done lil reece awesome catch ... definately one to remember...

  5. Mate well done .. thats awesome i have to get to new zealand soon ... truly awesome catch .. congrats
  6. mate spot X is most of the time somewhere really common where smaller fish are caught ... you just have to target the bigger ones and be patient
  7. nice kingy there mate ... im glad to hear ur persistance paid off ... they fight hard at any size ay.... great catch
  8. I will never forget that day hahah on the little tinny and you getting the lure through your nose..... i still feel it today haha
  9. Mate i find the best way to hook em is just through the nose lightly and send it in un weighted or if the current is a lil strong then use a running 00 ball sinker this distorts the swimming of the yakka and slows him down from coming back in ..... also try find the small yakkas ... the theory bigger the bait bigger the fish doesnt apply with kings and yakkas ,,,, they tend not to each big yakkas but big slimies mo worries they love them ... hope that helps
  10. hahah thanks ... i have landed a few this year on light ger including an 80cm 5kg on 4lb on a wharf too lol
  11. That's one of the bigger one's I've seen come in. What weight leader were you using? Cheers Tony 20lb leader mate
  12. Went down to my new land based spot X down south for a quick Kingie fish in the rain and being part disabled ATM due to my right arm being in a cast i was in for a fun day lol ... I have caught a few kings recently ranging to 80cm (All with one hand in a cast) so i was expecting something this trip. Caught a few yakkas and drifted them out, within minutes the first rod went off and a few secs later a little sambo. Whilst dehooking the fish my other rod screams.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the drag was singing and i knew i was in for a ride on 10lb gear ... this wasnt a lil king. I was convinced i was going to loose it so i told my brother to film the fight, first run was over 80m. After roughly 150m of line i finally begin to turn this beast, i had to use all my experience i9n fighting a king to have a chance to land this one...after 25mins i brought the king to the wharf and realised it wont fit in the net as i had relied on a friend to bring his gaff cause mine was at home...... Lucky for me the fish was spent and i was able to wash it up on the step Hi fives all round and i took a few photos then straight back into em... the fish was 1m long and 12kg in weight.. can't wait to land a 15kg LB king P.S dont crowd the popular spots as there are more kings elswhere just look for structure and u have more of a chance landing Big Kings where no one fishes
