  11. come on boys you can't stand the smell of soft plastics, what were you doing before them with bait? if you want to catch prize fish you have to smell a bit like them
  12. see if you can transform them into reds now
  13. you should be proud of yourself mullet are a pretty rare catch on plastics i'd say you got the bream fired up with the action of the plastics but the smell of the bait and the fact that bait moves slower in the water than a plastic they went for that.try to pause longer between twiches and lift the rod with a slow and smooth action
  14. after work today i took my three year old boy for a fish it was his second time in the boat but first time the two of us only we headed out to fish the lady robinsons beach for a flattie or two but the southerly made things a bit uncomfortable for him so we headed for a bit of cover to watts reef threw the anchor in and used pillies for bait he cant actually cast more than a metre yet so i casted in and handed him the rod i was too busy throwing back undersize snapper for about 15 minutes so i didnt notice what he was up to as a thought came to mind that he might be sea sick cause he's pretty active usually and he wasnt making a sound i turned around and to my surprise the little bugger had a fish on and was trying to wind it in with the rod in his armpit but the drag was too tight so he couldnt turn the handle it was a stand off with a good size flattie so after giving him a bit of lift and wind instruction we netted a nice specimen of 50cms, that was it, he wouldnt sit down after that ,he wanted to catch all the fish on the measuring sticker in an hour so i had to pretend a phonecall from mum to get out of the water and use the power of santa claus to get the fish out of his hands at home you can tell how proud of him self he is in the photo

  16. the photos are out of this world its sad to know how many things people never get to see with their own eyes on this planet thanks for sharing them with us
  17. i,ve been the proud owner of a 455 frontrunner for the last two years and i cant fault the boat its as tough as they come i,ve taken it outside heaps of times never even felt like a small boat all the people i took fishing are impressed with the stability and toughness of the boat i usually fish alone so i can vouch for single person launching and retrieving i don't think i would ever go back to alloy or any other material for that matter
  18. i only got a flattie and a flounder it was pretty slow the wind kept going up and down couldnt get much drift so i worked the same spots for a while before moving on , it payed off
  19. the drums just after the tanker had left the drums just after the tanker had left
  20. got my first jewie yesterday on a soft plastic it was a bit of a surprise for me (bigger surprise for the jewie) cause i never targeted jewies in the past i had a pretty average day as you can see from the photo switched to the good old plastics after fishing most of the day on blades and lures and it happened, now i know why people target them all their life as it came next to the boat all lit up it looked awesome put up a great fight on six pound line, nearly spooled me and tasted great ,my kids ate the lot i think i got the bug now
  21. i,ve been told wd-40 breaks down all the grease in the bearings etc plus its mineral so it always leaves a residue
