my mate was out there too today didnt get one whiting usually we get a couple each but i noticed if you work your plastics a little bit faster the tailor come and smash it the spot i fished today usually produces good whiting

went out for a session today for a combined catch on bait and plastics ,i started fishing with plastics this year but bait sometimes gives you another option to have more success i started of with bait good old chook gut gut scored 7 bream and when the tide picked up coming in together with the wind i started using the plastics. Not a bad morning although the wind was up and down the bites were constant and i totalled a sum of 11 bream 2 flatties and 2 nice trevors at 10 o'clock i caught my last bream and i called it a day due to lack of food and blood flow to my left hand (too many casts) the water started to clear a little but the forecast says storms for next week so back to coffee coloured water it is.

i got a little okuma 1000 size i bought from tony at matraville, i had this reel for three years now and i got heaps of fish with it i landed a metre long port jackson once on 4 pd line ,when i got it tony said to me just give it a wash and it should be fine and i tell you i fish with a stella now but i always take the little okuma with me cause i know its gonna do the job i havent serviced it ever and i even dropped it in the water once wading the shallows dont get fooled by brands and names the quality of the reels these days is very high on every brand just go and have a feel of the reels you like and make up your own mind
