  1. Hi mate, They are really a bay boat. We cop a pounding in any from of sea but we push on. However at rest it is very stable. I think I have it set up pretty well. Baitmate live bait tank and board at rear over engine well (which I had raised because standard they are just a tray. This needs to be done when ordering boat). I have ran the fuel line forward with tank now in the centre console. Planning on putting under floor tank in. With any weight in the back boat really struggles to get on the plane with the 60hp. We put everything up in the nose. spare fuel, esky etc to help out with this. I currently don't have any cover on the boat as we are always throwing lures. My advice with the boat is to max out the power it needs every bit of it. Nath
  2. Hi Mate, I've got 5m centre console with a yammie 4 stroke 60. When I bought it that was the maximum. Needs 75 to 80hp. Fully loaded it would benefit from more. However I don't mind the fact that going to the FAD's and back uses less then 25litres (40 + km). Any other questions would be glad to answer. Nath
  3. Hi Loco, Most Steel recyclers have them and they do charge a nominal fee, which will give you a printed receipt/weight. If you are weighing your boat on trailer drive on unhook from car, drive car off bridge and then they will give you the weight. All the best Nath
  4. Hi Crusher, Two weeks ago when we came back in across the bar there was only 1.5m below the boat and it was still running out hard and breaking completely across the bar. So please take care. Nath
  5. Hi Crusher, We Did two weekend charters over the last two weeks, 17th was Spent on the Mackeral grounds for 5 Spotted and 2 Spanish Bustoffs. 18th was spent chasing Cobia first one went 15kg second was estimated at 18kg but we only got 5 kilos, thanks to very large tiger shark. Could not go wider then about 40m both days as current was cranking and wind was blowing. 24th saw the boys bottom bash for Pearlies and Morwong. 25th resulted in 8 Kings 75-95 one 30kg Bronze whaler and a 4-5kg Yellowfin Tuna. Good Luck Nath
  6. Hi Predator, Just a tip Make sure it has warranty then pay for the extended warranty, So far my sisters 2008 tdv8 has had to have the rear brake system replaced twice as they kept locking up when driving resulting warped discs and an expensive repair bill (under warranty). Also Both Diffs have had to be replaced under the extended warranty. The car has done 85,000ks and they have never towed or done off roading with it. Besides these issues looks good sounds great but way to expensive for what you get. Nath
  7. Hi Guys, Give them a call they should be able to help you out. They did when I was having issues. The only thing that I know is that you cannot put your navionics card into the computer as it will wipe the card. To upload waypoints etc you need to use a different card. Good Luck Nath
  8. Hi Puregeek, Quintrex and Stacer both make berley buckets to fit maxi brackets like yours. Here is the link http://www.stacer.com.au/accessories/Burley_Bucket Nath
  9. This is good news. We were up there at the start of the month and were told this was most likely going to happen. We didn't mind as we cleaned up in other areas up there but it is nice to have it as a fall back when the fishing is tough and you just want to catch some kings for a laugh. Finally some change. Regards Nath
  10. Totally agree with Scienceman, I was talked out of buying a team Daiwa advantage Rod for the 4 - 8 pound model. It is matched to team daiwa advantage 2500 reel and I have given it plenty of grief. It is my weapon of choice for salmon providing many a laugh for my boat mates when it is totally loaded up. No Problems Yet Nath
  11. Hi Dan, Mate some good ideas there, however I think you are going to run into major problems with the layout of all that under floor stuff. I have a Brooker 5m centre console and all subfloor is used for flotation and you will have ribs running across the boat every 300-400mm. You will need to turn everything sideways and make allowances to put flotation back in. Regards Nath
  12. They are lobster pots. just ask Terry Hill he will point them all out for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nathan
  13. Problem is Ray he is 1/4 Maori and his Koro (grandfather) loves them. So I let the young fella explain to him why they all went back. Was Quite an interesting conversation to say the least. Nathan
  14. Hi every one, Headed out chasing Salmon today with my Son Levi ("Boogie") and two mates. Tried for some Livies just in case the Salmon didn't play ball but only managed to get sweep they were ravenous not letting the Yakka's get to the baits. So We headed straight to Big Box where we started our session last week and things were looking slow. Then they started to boil 5 metres from the boat (sometimes you get lucky)so I lobbed out a little white bait metal for my son, two winds and he was on. It was Hillarious poor little bugger didn't know what to do it just kept running, with a little coaching and a few acrobatic aerial leaps and a fairly long drift we had it boat side and in the net. He was Wrapped!!!! Now that we had his fish out of the way he was delegated to net duty for the bigger boys. Timmmmmmeeeeee had never caught a salmon so he grabbed a soft plastic and set about changing his fortune only to end up catching a Yakka while we were getting the salmon. It was quickly dispatched as a live bait and left to its own devices. He never got the hook up he was after but we handed the rod over once some were hooked he had a ball. They were quite spooky today compared to last week and were sitting around 5 to 10 metres down. Ended up landing about 20 all of which were released to fight another day (Son's Choice as he was "Net Boy"). Will have another crack next weekend hoping to get back to the same number as last week which was around 40 lost count after 15 all. Cheers Nathan
  15. Hi Matt, I have one in my boat and can't recommend them more Highly Nath
  16. Hey Dave, Bad Luck on the fishing front mate. But the boat looked awesome on the lake. Might have to invest in some outriggers for mine aswell. Did you have to strengthen the Gunnels to stop them flexing. Catch you later Nath
  17. Hey Dave, Sounds as though all is going well. Keep us informed mate. Hows the boat handling the trip? Speak Soon Nathan
  18. Hey Mate, Glad to see the boat is all sorted out. That is one hell of a trip you've got planned. The only advice that I can Give you is that if it is blowing out of the North East at South West Rocks DO NOT ATTEMPT the bar crossing. We went on our weekend away in November and didn't go out at all on the charter boat. Good Luck Mate Safe Trip and TIGHT LINES. Nathan
  19. Need's To Go Fishing!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. We Had a Great Day Over 30 Rat kings in an Hour and gave up because anchor boy was feeling seady!!!! We lost one cracker that smashed a Cowanyoung and we just couldn't stop him. So not all bad Nath
  21. Hi Jed, Don't know about the size of the sites but the ramp is good rebuilt a couple of years ago. Nath
  22. Hi Ray, It was the same at Putty Rocks and Patonga was also very quiet just a few little choppy tailor trying to inhale a 7inch Gulp. Nath
  23. Hi Pescatore Yeah That time of year is average, I go up on a boys weekend on the third weekend in November every year. It is nearly always blowing and we normally miss a day of fishing which means early to the pub!!!!! We normally get pearl perch, bar cod out wide and at fish rock the Kings are nearly all undersize. The bar will be your biggest obstacle as it has been fairly ordinary every year to say the least. We were followed out by a smallish boat last year who dogged the bar at the last minute and was lucky not to be swamped so take care! Nath
  24. Thanks Fella's, Off to watch the young bloke play soccer, then end off season party Ten Pin Bowling tonight. What a way to spend a Birthday Nath
  25. Here is My Brooker 5 metre Discovery CC. 60hp Yamaha 4 Stroke, BaiteMate live bait tank board and drawer plus plenty of other little Goodies! Nath
