  1. Hi Mike, From what I can see on the specs, they won't be up there with the stella's or saltigas but may be a cheaper alternative. They run 6 bearings but we will have to wait and see them in the flesh. Nath
  2. Josh I am now in the same predicament as you. I want both now, but will have to choose one before the other. I am going to get a monster mesh to go with each one so it may get expensive buying two setups instead of one plus all that Braid. I think it is time for some sneaky cash to get put aside!!!!!! I don't now if anyone else has noticed but thereseems to be a discrepency between the drag ratings. US sellers are saying 30lb not 30 kilo's for the 6500 which would seem more in line with the overheads which are 10kg for the 20's and 12kg for the 30's. Otherwise I guess we will have to wait until September to check them out. Nath
  3. Hi Josh, Just had a look on the daiwa site and they are saying September. They are a Sexy little Beast may buy the 6500 instead of the overhead. Can't wait to have a look now Nath
  4. Hi Josh, The new saltist overheads are starting to arrive at the shops now, but only in the 20 and 30 size. The Bigger ones will arrive in December so that may also see the arrival of the spinning series. I am waiting to get one of the 40's or 50's the 20 and 30 are tiny but look and feel really nice. Bring on Decmber Nath

    Boat Names

I was going to call my boat "JIGOLO'S" but the wife won out and we named it after our son whose nickname is Boogie hence I got Boog's Boat. I'll try for JIGOLO'S next Time Nath
  6. Sorry Jim, No more one bloke bought the other 3 but they were 12000's. I am thinking of loading it right up and it will still be cheaper then the normal price. Nath
  7. Hi All, Just picked up an absolute bargain today, a brand new Spheros 14000fa for $99 and couldn't resist the temptation . Now I am going to give it a bit of an upgrade, carbontex drag from Shimano and possibly a Stella handle. It is going to be used for Jigging so any other ideas or options would be greatly appreciated. Nath
  8. Hey Volitan, I fish the wharf quite often every, Weekend during summer especially. It fishes better on the high tide and of a night it turns on squid which we then use the next day when we head out in the boat. My tip is the end of the wharf doesn't always produce the fish!!!!! Good luck Nath
  9. That is RIDICULOUS!!!! They have my address with my rego details, if they can not be bothered to send me the new green sticker along with reason as to why I have to change it. then I guess I will probably have a little argument out on the water in the near future. What a bloody waste of time and money. Sorry Nath
  10. Hi Mark, We go to our local fruit an veg store and get big onion bags, around the 20 kilo mark they are orange plastic mesh. We load these up and tie it off to one of our Rod holders and just let it get smashed in the shore break. Nath
  11. Hey Cory, That will be about the best 15 bucks you will ever spend! Can't wait for next year hopefully it is held slightly earlier in the year so there is no chance of us getting the westerlies!!!!!!!!! Well Done Nath
  12. Hi Ray, Patonga wharf produced on the rising tide this morning it wasn't as bad in the bay as it was out on the river. I picked up a nice little 46cm flathead on a Nuclear chicken, which was promptly released to fight another day. I to was finished by 9:00 as it was starting to get a little windy and I knew the Bacon and Eggs were about to hit the Fry Pan. There is always next week. But I think these Westerlies are going to be around for a while so I'll be sticking to land Based. Nath
  13. Oh Well Ray, It still looked like a good night out on the water. I am heading over to Patonga for a flick in the morning on the high tide. Hopefully that will produce something if not I'll just watch the Pro's unload their boats full of mullet and hopefully get some crab baits. Nath
  14. Bad Luck Mate , There is always next year. Hopefully the weather gods play nicely next time and we can all get out and have decent crack at the title. Maybe you should have stretched the fish a little before puting him on the mat . We will be interested to see whats in the fishing pack becuase it will still be a bargain for $15. Nath
  15. Hey Diesel At least it wasn't 85cm and you missed out on the cash. Nath
  16. Well done Waynie, Atleast you had something to send in. You never Know your luck. It would be good to see Fishraiders take out the salt and the Fresh water species, Good Luck Nath
  17. Hi Payatz, I bought a Lowrance 525c df Combo about twelve months ago for $875, It does everything I need as I only fish to about 120m at the Fads when the weather is good. Mine did have a problem though, it kept freezing up, but was promptly replaced under warranty. Don't forget you will need to buy maps to make your GPS work nicely, Gives all the bottom contours etc. The card for mine was $385 for Australia wide however I have Heard the HDS may be nudging $500 and apparently our maps do not have all the features that the Americans have. Also remember that you cannot put theses cards directly into your computer, you will need a special card reader or your card will be wiped and you will have a $385 sd card. Good luck with your choice. Nath PS. Lowrance have simulators that you can download to check out how each unit works.
  18. Good effort Ray We are hoping to get out on the weekend and use everything up we bought from last weekend that we didn't use. There has been some monster bream taken from the Eastern side of the bridge prior to the rain and the wind. Hopefully it will start to settle down. Nath
  19. Hey Cory, Bet you can't wait till Saturday When the Results are announced. Good Luck Mate. Nath
  20. Hopefully next year it will be flathead and bream because Brisbane Waters has been producing some crackin bream at the moment. My mate got one on Tuesday night 1.2kg cleaned, which is supported by funnierthanu's couple in paddys channel. It would be great if they run it again next year, I,ll be in for shore Nath
  21. Diesel Diesel Diesel, That is normally the story of my life too, any day we forget the net is the day we get on to the crabs. So it doesn't surprise me that today of all days you forget the net and you hook up quality fish. The fish and weather Gods in all the powers ruined what would have been an absolute pearler of a day. Oh well there is always next year. And I now have a very clean boat. Dale, $5000 would have made a pretty good Birthday Bonus, Pity it didn't come off. Iam in for next year hopefully they run it again its a great cause. Nath
  22. Well Done, Good luck it sounds like the whole of NSW had bad weather you should be right up there! All the Best Nath
  23. Hi Ray, I decided to spend the day cleaning the boat, she is now sparkling clean, vacuumed floors, all gear has been resorted and put back in its correct place waiting and preying that next weekend will allow us to get out and get amongst it. Nath
  24. Hi All Just wondering if anyone had any Fish to submit. Was all set to go this morning and decided to pull the plug at 5am without even getting the boat out of the garage. Was Hoping to have a crack at some whiting this arvo on Poppers on the High tide but it is still bloody ordinary around the Southern end of the Central Coast. So $15 for a hat and a Brag mat is still money well spent. Good Luck to anyone who managed to battle the weather God and pick up a fish or Two Nath
  25. Hi all, Got my brag mat and hat today also. Bring it on! If I hit the magic 130cm mark on the brag mat I'll be stoked, more then likely it will be the 13cm mark. Can't Wait Nath
