  1. Hi Kiro Don't feel to bad mate we had the exact same Day up here out of Broken Bay. Hit all the spots we smashed it two weeks ago. We had the livies in a matter of minutes 12 in total and relesed 11 healthy specimens at the Lions park boat ramp 7 hours later. ABSOLUTE SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better luck next time NAth
  2. Hi all, Have Registered myself, my mate and my father who has had prostate cancer and had it removed. The hat and the mat are worth the $15 alone, jump on board it should be fun Nath
  3. Hi Andrew, What has been said above is correct. You are not allowed to use traps of any sought from an imaginary line from Little Box Head across to Green Point at the southern end of Pearl Beach North. Anywhere north of this line is the no trap zone. Anywhere south and up the Hawkesbury river traps are allowed. Hi Locodave, Andrew was asking if you were allowed to use witches hats for crabbing in Brisbane Waters. Regards Nathan
  4. Hi Panooch, Its been pretty quiet round here lately, For livies from Woy Woy head down the channel to little BoxHead and take a left towards Big Box Head and there is a spot called iron ladders, The point on the Western Side holds good schools of Yakkas and the occasional slimey just sound them out and you won't have any dramas. If you are heading south, west head to the south western side of Lion Island also has plenty of Yakkas and the Occasional Squid. We had a fun day last week targeting hammerheads as there wasn't to many decent fish around. Outside there was heaps of Yakka Schools on the surface with nothing chasing them. So we caught 4 extra large yakkas and put them out under balloons. Hooked three Hammerheads but were busted off after good fights then landed a 14kg Bronze Whaler. Just an idea if you also get bored waiting for the decent fish to bite. Good Luck Nathan. Ps. Thats Woy Woy Lions Park Boat ramp in my Avatar. Don't Use Blackwall Lions Park Is much Safer more people around.
  5. Hi Josh, Try getting a really fine drill bit and if the pins are hollow like most you may be able to get it to bite by twisting it by hand then gently pull it out whilst twisting. good luck Nathan
  6. Hey Hazza, Did you have any luck getting on a charter or was he booked out? Nathan
  7. Hi Fella's Not so much Brisbane Water, you are better off hitting the lagoons, Copa/Macs, Avoca, Terrigal and Wamberal. I don't Prawn but the people I know who do hit these and do alright. Nathan
  8. Hi Novice, Use the Lions park boat ramp at Woy Woy, much safer and more people to deter theft, has sand or wharf take your pick. Things have been known to disappear from Blackwall Ramp. Nathan.
  9. Off to South West Rocks for a Boys Weekend leave Friday Charter on Saturday probably bottom bashing out wide for Pearlies, Snapper and Bar Cod. Sunday Charter will be closer in chasing Kingies, well thats the plan at the moment anyway. Then drive home Monday with an Esky full of Fish. Nathan

  12. Hi Ray, We produced the same results as you this morning "0". Had one on and dropped it so it doesn't count. Beautiful morning down patonga though, we fished from 5:30 to 8:30 and the one I had on was only small. There was still a fair bit of diesel in the water from one the trawlers this may have had something to do with it well thats my excuse and I am sticking to it. Nathan
  13. Hi Ray, Got a 48cm specimen last night at Patonga and only one touch tonight very quiet. Have to try in the morning. Nathan
  14. Totally agree with this!!! I would love to need to have a stella or dogfight but cant afford it and secondly can't justify it. Nothing annoys me more then when I go into a shop and tell them I have 300 to spend on a reel and they hand me a Dogfight or Stella and say thats what I have to buy. I willjust have to cop it on the chin when my Okuma S!!ts itself and I loose the fish which I Probably would have released anyway. But it would have been fun being smoked anyway!!!! Good luck Nathan
  15. Hi Big Banana, I to have a VS80a and haven't had any dramas. They also make a VS80a High speed. The way I see it with a lifetime warranty and the fact I can buy 3 possibly 4 VS80's for the price of a Stella I just couldn't justify the $$$$. Nathan
  16. Hi Frangkie, I Have just got a 2500 Advantage and own a 4000 twin power. They are pretty evenly matched and believe that the advantage might just have it over the twin power. It is silky smooth and just feels so nice casting little plastics or metal slices. Good luck in your decision Nathan
  17. Hi River Buoy, If you don't have a down rigger you can try this. Buy Some easy rigs and put them before the swivel connected to your leader. Then attach either Knife Jigs or Snapper Leads of desired weight to get your livie down in the hot zone. Good Luck Nathan P.S. Knife Jigs are best as they also act as an attractent to the fish.
  18. Hi Ray, Yesterday was a cracker at Patonga. 5 landed in under 2 hours, 2 undersize 2 just legal and one very nice one. Great early morning High tide and all fish released to fight another day. Took The boat out today any nearly got blown to N.Z Nathan P.S Has anyone else undertaken the DPI Fishing Survey did one Yesterday morning.
  19. Hi Ray, We were fishing the wharf and we got 3 undersize and 1 Legal. Can't wait for the water to warm up a little more then we should start to get some really good results around Patonga. Well Done on the fish. We were contemplating going around your way but my mate had his two sons with him so we gave it a miss and stayed at the wharf. Tight Lines Nathan
  20. Hi all, Just to clarify as it is written in the fine print at the bottom of the closure list. The WHOLE OF BRISBANE WATERS From the southern end of Pearl Beach to Little Box and north all the way up to gosford is a no net or trapping area. The area is full of crabs and if you know were to go you don't need nets anyway Bring on summer and the hand lines. Nathan
  21. Thanks AJB I went into buy the Daiwa Advantage 4-8 pound to go with my new advantage 2500. They were on special for 20% off so it was $160. They had the Zion reduced from $299 to $229 and have managed a deal at $200. You are right about the action, the Daiwa was as stiff as broom stick compared to the Zion and I did get to laod the Zion up and it just felt brilliant, so I put down a $20 deposit to see if I could get any info on them before parting with the rest of my cash. I was going to pay $ 200 for the daiwa anyway but this just felt so much nicer and still managed to get the alloy and red on the reel seat the same as the reel and great looking chameleon paint with metalic flecks on the rod. Looks like I will be heading back in to part with the rest of my hard earned. It was just that I hadn't heard anything about them and couldn't even get a match on google. Nathan
  22. Hi All, Just want to know if anyone has had any experience with Sakana Rods. In particular the Sakana Zion 7 foot 4-8 Pounds. Any info Greatly appreciated Nathan
  23. The Boab Boys were talking about taking that boat over to darwin for him at the Sydney Boatshow. You couldn't buy advertising like that... Nathan
  24. Hey mate Just did a quick search on google. Nautical Mile = 1.852km. And A Fathom = 6 feet so around 1.83metres Nathan
