  1. dont know? he was going to give me some info a while back on lake mac, and we were pm ing each other, but all of a sudden nuthing , havent heard a thing???
  2. the flathead seem to have left the building , last few outings have seen hardly any results for maximun input, ie im putten the hours in but not producing the lake should be crawling with them but they are shut down for some reason, been watching the barrometer and tides and even with the barrometer above 1016 today when we went out still nil, im starting to doubt all that stuff. ow well back to the drawing board. might have to give the flattys a miss for a while and go chase some drummer n groper. chow.
  3. been very quiey up in lake macquarie to mate, i noticed the barometer is up round 1016 so i mite have a lash today.
  4. well its got me stuffed must have to be a magician to catch the friggen things, there are 100,s of them in the creek down the road and i tried the mesh trap and all i got was a tiny bream and heaps of tadpoles then i tried the juice bottle and only caught 1 when i go back to check me juice bottle 1 i sneak up and there are poddies all around it but not goen in.

    what site can i check the barometer on???
  7. been thinking of gathering my poddies the nite b4 i head out early to fish, was thinking of a small fishtank with an aerator with water from the lake in it, but if the weather turns crap and i dont go, how long could i expect them to last? does any1 do this?

    what is the best barometric pressure for fish to be on the bite? is it above 1020?
  10. flattys have gone real quiet rayr, went out again thismorning and didnt get a touch.
  11. hahahaha thanks roberta, i was actually fishing for flattys so i was quiet suprised to see the silver flash.
  12. got my 1st bream on a plastic today, not a bad one either at 38cm , caught on a 4 inch new penny gulp and went pretty dam hard!! good fun!! also got a 30cm flounder, all in all it was very quiet on lake mac today.
  13. how deep can i use these poppers to? is 4 foot to deep?
  14. headed down the creek this arv armed with a bushy stiffy popper, (my first try with poppers) started bloopen round, seen a dead tree in the water so started casting at it and 3rd cast i can see bout 5 bream all chasing my popper then this little one smashed it, so cool to see . released him and started casting the other way and seen a much bigger bream half leave the water to hit my popper but somehow didnt hook up , not bad for half hour fishen, , lots a fun and ill be doing a lot more of this, thanks to hodgey and poddy trapper for giving me some great tips today ps sum pics of the creek.
  15. hit the swansea dropoff thismorning armed with bait and plastics, got 2 bream and a flatty there with bait doing all the damage, then back down to summerland point to score another nice flatty on a technicolour yawn 80mm plastic, 4got to slip slop slap now burnt to a crisp, a few will help. cheers.

  17. try the drop off at the lake end of the channel, theyve been getting a bit of everything there, or down pulbah island on the east and west ends.

  21. after advice please, i need some help with catchen bream on lures please, i can catch the flattys no prob but no idea or luck with the bream, cple of questions, in plastics what size should i b useing? 2 to 3 inch? and wat wieght and size jig head? and is the retrieve the same as my flatty one? ive heard some say to slow it right down for bream as its more about fineese and patience, im just after a few ideas to get me started and going in the right direction. thanks.
