  1. The last three years have been enormous for many of us and can be contributed to NO nets etc. There are other contributing factors like cleaner water.WE have also helped with responsible fishing. What must not happen is for fisho`s to take for granted these great times. Also those that are catching fish are working very hard for their success buy catching their own bait and putting in the time. They also fish tides and and use the electronic equipment now available to great advantage. Yes the fishing has improved but RAIDERS will tell its not as easy as it sounds. ENJOY your time in the club and catch your share of fish.
  2. Its amazing what you can do when you have the workshop to do a project like that . A lot of pride and satisfaction must be gained.Great feeling I bet as you power down Middle Harbour and past you know who. GREAT JOB.
  3. HI LH I now only use a small length of chain(1 mtr) and small reef anchor in that sort of bottom for the same reason. IT looks like its too small to hold but it does.WE let out plenty of rope to take the strain. I also slowly lower the anchor.IT is a lot easier with two people. UP until now have not had anchor slip but be aware this can happen. TRY to carry a couple of different size anchors. YOU are not on your own with this problem.I have even used a brake disk in that type of bottom with thin rope that will easily snap if jammed. Again always be alert when fishing in close. Before you decide to anchor watch the swell and then decide where you will fish.
  4. Looks much better with the lines marked. When I used it on tuesday the fencing was still there and no lines marked. That was a very good idea. Will help those that have trouble and like to use two lanes. DON`T forget when they increase the parking they will increase the cost to park there. LETS hope its no more than double what it is now.
  5. A good start for your first boat.Have lots of fun with it and make sure you wash it thoroughly after use.THAT is when you get home regardless.I have a boat as old as yours and runs like new.I fish during the week on the harbour and it creates a lot of talk due to its appearance.I bet before long you will want to upgrade. Good luck and catch plenty of fish.
  6. Your doing the right thing. Its a lot easier and less hassle to buy a boat ready to go. There is no savings in doing it your self.Hope you have no problem selling your boat. I`m sure there is a Fishraider just waiting to snap it up. Good idear about upgrading your boat. Its amazing how quickly you outgrow your boat and want something bigger.
  7. I always love taking a girl fishing. They don`t only make/bring along good tucker but always catch a good feed. A happy woman is always happy with a good man(fisher) of course.
  8. Guys HE left his run too late to catch the ferry.
  9. TRY PREPSOL. JUST MIGHT WORK.
  10. If theboat is as sound as you say it is enjoy yourself. You will iearn a great deal from it. Just make sure its what you want to use it for.I wouldn`t spend too much money on it If thats what your going to do I say keep looking. I would also be worried about the age but they were built solid. Good luck.
  11. Mate saw you looking for somewhere to launch your boat.It must have been a late start. glad you found somewhere and had a good day. AS you are aware it is now open.
  12. I am pleased to advise that Drummoyne boat ramp is now open.As I only fish during the week I Have no complaints. There is now only two lanes so that will cause hassles on weekends. The floating pontoon in the middle has caused the problem. I had the privelige to be the first to use it @8.30 this morning 01/12/09.
