  1. G'day Ken, This is probably a long shot but it may be worth checking your guides or line roller if you haven't already. Cheers Red
  2. Give it away mate. Nobody wants to read this crap. Your "do as i say" B.S. has been done to the death, long before you or i came along. The fact is, we release plenty and never ever abuse the rules. I can't help you if you have a problem with that Cheers Red
  3. Hi Jocool, I have four of these reels and was told by Shimano themselves, that they will no longer stock this reel in their line-up. It certainly was not included in the last Shimano catalogue i seen. Seems i was lucky to pick mine up for $AU269 on a run-out sale. They did have a design fault and 3 out of my 4 reels indeed malfunctioned. Thankfully the fix was simple Cheers Red
  4. Don't waste your time Jocool. Some people will always find something to whinge about . Seems providing fish for your family is a crime to some Reality, would it make you happy if i fed my family with jewfish bought from the markets??? Cheers Red
  5. G'day Fishraiders, Went to the Tackle Show today and seen a couple of Shimano Thunnus reels at the Freddy's stand. I thought these reels had been discontinued but the salesman reckons they are back Hope he's not spinning me a B.S. story. For those interested, the show price for a 16000F was $450 I'd hate to see their store price Cheers Red
  6. Cheers Jocool, Mate, the "REALITY" is, i have two young kids that absolutely love eating fish and nothing makes me, and surely many other parents happier than seeing them eat the fresh fish. It's a wonderful feeling People who know me, know that i release all jewfish under 5kg so i am doing my bit for people like Mr REALITY Maybe next season, my self imposed size limit will increase to 6kg, and without doubt, people like Reality will still be having their whinge Red
  7. You are right Changa but someone else has her eyes on that beautiful gold marlin pendant Cheers Red
  8. Thanks fellas for your input and thanks Mick for posting a pic of the jewie's jewels. I'm not keen on drilling because i don't have the right equipment and will stuff them for sure Seems glueing is probably the best option at this stage. Just got to find the right adhesive now Red
  9. G'day Swoffa, We are not getting "that many" jews. Just 2 or 3 per night was about average there for a while. Fish were averaging around the 9-13kg mark. The spot i found looks good for SP work if you are after this sort of size as an average. The program you mention looks great and i will get involved in it for sure. Has anyone made a jewel necklace or knows of anyone that has? There's got to be a better way than attempting to drill the stuff. Cheers Red
  10. Hi Fishraiders, After a successful season chasing jewfish in Botany Bay, i've accumulated enough jewels to make a nice necklace The problem is, i have no idea as to how i can achieve this. The jewels are so hard, they look like they may break if drilled Any idea's as to how i can go about making this necklace? Red
  11. Cummon guys, they're not that hard Red
  12. Kevvie, There are several spots in the bay that produce good fish. We fished it pretty hard in recent months and had a bumper season. Seems you know how to get good fish in the Hawkesbury, so you must know what you're looking for, eg: currents, eddies, structure and bait holding areas. Get yourself a good map of the bay and suss the likely looking spots out. And once you find a good spot, keep it to yourself Red
  13. Nice one Tony. May this be the first of many Cheers Red
  14. Grab yourself a 7ft Silstar Powertip 701SWM and a Penn 6500SS Spinfisher. This outfit will be versatile, long lasting and capable of stopping the odd good fish that comes your way. A 7ft spin rod is one very useful tool. Cheers Red
  15. I'm with Bashir on this one. Little Shark
  16. Thanks Bluecod, Looks like a pretty cool site with some familiar names. Feels like home already Cheers Red
  17. Aero, describing me as good looking is a worry mate . It was an interesting day out indeed. Bashed the bottom at Browns for the first time......an interesting experience. It's always nice to add some new species to the list, especially such tasty ones Cheers Red
