  1. I think baitrunner reel has two drag systems. When you want to adjust the front drag, do not switch the baitrunner lever on; But when you want to adjust the baitrunner drag/rear drag of course you need to switch the baitrunner lever on.

  2. Hi Guys,

I fish the harbour a lot, and it's interesting to note that my captures of legal snapper are increasing in both frequency and size from 2009 - 2012.

Hit the harbour weekend before last at 1:45am till 7am and berleyed just off shark island in the 25m mark which marks bait.

Caught a few tailor and plenty of pannies from 32cm to 40cm. Heaps of them, we left them biting.

Here they are snapped with a 2Litre bottle to show the size

Not only in the Harbour but also in Coogee many people got snappers at that sizes on white bread while targeting Blackfish atm.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  3. Hi raiders,

I went fishing to the usual cliff at Coogee this evening as the weather was pretty bad in the last few days. Managed to get to the spot at 4.00pm using my newly bought rod, a 12ft one-piece custom made and Daiwa vintage reel 4000X with 20lb monoline and white bread as bait.

The first cast straightly hooked up with the biggest drummer I've ever caught. It pulled the line unbelievable. I could not crank the reel properly, so just twisted the handle many times. Another half an hour I got several bites but I pulled out the hooks, maybe the hooks I'd been using were too small as I could feel big fish pulled the line.

Then I caught big pike, but I gave it to some one fishing next to me.

As getting dark and I could not see my float anymore so I quit and got home at 5.10pm, not bad after long time got no chance for fishing.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  4. Hi Kirst,

Use the transparentplastic tube which comes in the pack of the glow stick, insert the leader intothe tube then insert the glow stick into the tube so the tube will hold theleader and the glow stick together.

    Hope thishelp.

Let us knowhow you go with it.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  5. just a quick question - when you use the bread - do you squash it together to get it into a white dough or do you just hook it in to the original form of the bread?

Ive always tried the squshing into a dough but never any takers.

    Thanks

Yes, wrapthe hook with the bread then squeeze it firmly.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  6. Great catch there mate.

Just a quick question. When fishing with bread from the stones, do you use a running sinker (small) straight to the hook, unweighted, below a float?

Ive never used it before but willing to give it a go.

    Cheers

Yes, I use running sinker on the main line to the swivel under a running float, then from the swivel to the hook using fluorocarbon leader 10lb 50cm.

    Cheers,

    Andy

  7. Hi raiders,

I’m posting a report after so long never posted any.

I went to South Coogee today which took 5 minutes drive from my place.

At 10.35am started fishing using white bread from the cliff, it was notwindy at all and the swells were not too big.

First 40 minutes was slow and only caught small drummers and sent themback to grow bigger.

Getting closer to high tide which was 12.28pm there was feeding frenziesand I caught these ones which were pretty entertaining on light gear.

    Cheers,

    Andy
