  4. The electrified boat is pretty funny though, but I can just see the missuses look on her face when she finds me unconscious on the driveway one morning because ive forgotten about the boat being wired up to shock. Ye that sounds good for me too but knowing my head some mornings after a few the night before, Ill cop it as well Good to hear that they didnt stuff your cover mate and yes, we hope they fell out and left some scalp on the concrete when they did the dogs.
  5. Gday Allan, These ass holes should be shot. Did you have a cover on the boat? If so did they cut it to get in or lifted it? I ask because I just got a custom cover for mine (big $) and if they are that desprate that they have to do something like that I hope the just unzip it and cut it to shreds as I would be very pissed of if the do. And also to the other guys that responded, A bike allarm sounds good, do these allarms consume alot of power? Dont want a flat battery when I go to use the bloody thing. Cheers

Is it very shallow or is it a good chance we will be hit with a rogue wave out of the blue? Would be very helpfull Thank you

    Flat Battery!

Thanks miller and all the other raiders, I think the best way to go is install a isolator switch and also place a piece of marine carpet underthe battery box never the less. Ill get my fisho/mechanic budy to run the multi. I am getting a little blistering where Ive conected stainless to ally, is this caused by current then? I thousght it was just the two metals reacting and should have used a paste or sikaflex. IF its a power leak is that a posative current or is the hull earthed to negative that causes this corrosion? Thanks

    Flat Battery!

Gday BFB, Thats right, I use the solar panel to keep the battery topped up only, when im not using it or when the boat sits not used for long periods of time . But how long should a battery stay charged if there where no solar panel there and with out use? Is it normal for a battery conected with nothing on to be flat in 4 months? If i isolated the battery would have it still been ok(charged) in that 4 month period with out use? Cheers

    Flat Battery!

Gday raiders, Hows this weather for ya Sydney siders? one day and shining the other Ive got a very anoying problem that I thought I had licked. I park my boat in an area where I dont have any access to power these days but plenty of sun. I had a 4W solar panel pluged in to a cigaretlighter socket conected to the battery and was working well but the thing got obstructed for about 3 weeks and ended up with a flat battery. A bit of info on the boat: I dont have an isolator switch and run a quite large acid marine battery with 700amp cranking power I think. It runs every thing from electrics to a 4 stroke 90. Also I dont have a regulator either. Now my Q is: Is there any other way to keep it topped? Does the 4W sollar panel need a regulator as its only a very small wattage and is only designed to keep the battery topped up.? Should I have 2 batteries (then need 2 solar panels?) Should this battery have an isolator switch and does it really draw that much current eaven though the boats equpment is switched off when the battery is not isolated? Hope some one could shedsome light on this delemer. Cheers

  18. I was looking over a warf at the shallow water as me and a friend where having a bite to eat, not fishing at the time, and we both got a shock of a lifetime, a huge jewie swam past us, right under our noses. Made sence, plenty of small mullet around that we saw shortly before hand..... I ran to the car, and about half way there reality kicked in, I usualy have a rod and a small fishing pack full of lures in my wagon, and realised we came with his car

  24. Hey Guys, Its warming up and would like to go on a fishing week end with the boys. I was wondering if any one can sugest a destination arround 2 hrs drive where we could take our boat. Im looking for some accomodation for 3 but more importantly that can accomodate my boat. Has any one been to any coastal resorts that they can recomend with some gr8 accomodation and waterways for fishing? Preferably with inshore and offshore waters incase of bad weather. Sugestions would be very appreciated. Cheers
