    Braid Snapping

Adam Take it back from where you brought the braid from and they should replace it for you.As the spool of line you brought is old stock. And there was a bad batch that came through a while ago. I havent had a spool of fireline do that to me for a long time. If you want to try a different line give Sunline Castaway a go its 10lb but thinner than 4lb fireline. Hope this helps Rich
  4. Hi Holmesie Ive just gone through the same thing and finished up with the navara STX turbo diesel.I was getting the triton GLXR but if you want to fit a esky in the back forget it not enough height there with the hard cover. That wasnt the only reason though, the seats in the triton were crap compared to the navara,The navara comes with cruise ,3000kg towing compared to 2600kg , bouncy ride in the triton when empty . The Navara kicks the tritons butt all over i didnt even concider the hilux one for the price and all the reviews on them leaves the hilux behind the triton and navara.I pick mine up next week.It might have cost extra but well worth it anyway. Its my first 4x4 and i was amazed at its power for a deisel especially coming from a VZ SS ute I will be heading up your way to my Mrs parents place at Canowindra. So if you want to see one Sunday week PM me and i will get in contact with you and ill take you for a spin if you like. Cheers Rich

    What Reel?

Quote(I have a Kix and it doesnt impress me much. The Certate is lovely but $$$$$ The Sustain is realistically not much better than a Stadic but much dearer. Personally I would be looking at Capricorns or Stradics ) Just a question what dont you like about the kix if you like a certate so much . The kixs kicks the capricorn all over the shop. Ive got two of them and they havent let me down yet.And they get used atleast 3 to 4 days a week.I know my Shimanos never lasted that. Rich

    Alloy Or Glass

Buster If i was you i would stay clear away from Quintrex and Stacer and take up Whitto's offer and test a Poly out.I went in Dave W's on the weekend and it is great, better riding than the hornet thats for sure. Rich

    Stuck Swivel Seat

Hi Joe I had the same prob on my Allycraft. I had to get my car jack out and jack it out because it was jammed so hard in there. And i also had to spray some WD40 down the hole as well. Rich P
  16. Ken I have tried the weight distribution.I have even taken out the motorguide and battery. But it still happens. So another question would be How far can a motor be raised because im allready an inch above the keel line and i still cannot see the cav plater when moving. The cav plate is still an inch below the water level. Rich
  17. Thanks for the replies fellas Joe been there done that and when i first picked the boat up the cav plate was level with the keel.I was only getting 4000rpm and 40kmh. Aussie my motor has electric trim and start. Iceman My battery is at the back and depending on what dealer you talk to about hornet motor positions they all differ. Ozy Solas told me that and on alot of the other forums where people have had the same prob and have put permatrims on they have lost topend also.It might work for me or it might not but i dont really want to put one on if i dont have to. Rich
  18. Hi all Some might know i have a 4m custom hornet with a 40 merc on the back. My problem is the boat does not seem to plane properly. There is still alot of spray coming from the bow. I have already taken it back and they raised the motor to where it is now cav plate is 1 inch above the keel line And the cav plate is still 1 inch below the water while on the plane. :confusuion: I have dropped the prop to a 11 pitch because the standard 12 only lets the motor rev to 4750rpm. I was thinking of buying a SSteel prop because i have heard this will help it alot and also give me an extra 3 to 4 mile an hour. They also stated i could raise the motor another hole with the SSteel prop as it bites better than the alloy one Is this correct?? :confusuion: I also do not want to put a permatrim on as i will lose top end. The boat is alot heavier than a standard 4m because i have a 40ltr underfloor fuel tank and also a 60ltr livewell under the casting deck. So does anyone have any ideas or answers? And what are Solas props like? Regards Rich P
  19. Well just got back from the Para.Took the Gps with me.The sounder says 65km and the gps says 50.1. So thats how much they are out. If i would have known they would be out by so much i wouldnt have got one. Rich
  20. Thanks Ken What do you mean by conditions and set up? :confusuion: The nepean was pretty smooth today. And the wheel has been installed correctly that is from the instruction manual. I will be taking a gps with me on the weekend so i will find out one way or the other. Rich P
  21. Hi all After Sundays social i took my boat back to the dealers to raise the motor on my new boat as it was spraying 6foot out the back.I also got them to put on the wheel and nav lights that Quintrex seemed to forgot. . Anyway the dealer also changed the prop to a smaller pitch as the boat is heavier than normal. They took me down to test it on the river and to my surprise the speed went 60km at 5500rpm with 2 people and 65km with 1 person. So my question is how accurate are the speedos? Regards Rich P
