  1. Hi , Just got back from a fishing trip for impoundment Barra up at Lake Proserpine (peter faust dam). Fishing is a little slow at the moment with the fish moving around the dam quickly not staying in one place for long. I only managed to land two fish the biggest being 122 cm and a 113 cm and lost another four in the sticks. It is amazing the adrenaline rush you get when these fish hit the lures with their acrobatic displays, fishing locked drags you still need to thumb the spool as they peel off line, broken & sratched lures with teeth marks, straightened 6xx hooks it is a experience i recomend for any keen fisho and some thing i will be doing again sooner than later. Below is a pic of the 113 cm Barra Regards Dan
  2. Hi, Well done it sounds like you had a good time. Its as they say " it's always the fish you dont catch that bring you back "How were you fishing with bait ? on a float or on the bottom ? Cheers dan. :
  3. Hi, we have a family holiday house right near the bowling club at callala beach. It is such a nice place at myola there when im stresssed at work i just think about fishing there and allis ok.
  4. Hi, I was down there for easter too, fished from orient point up to hospital rock just up from nowra bridge only managed a few flatties and small bream, and some squid from the bay. It is still a good place to fish you just need to watch where the locals go and find the fish as they do move around. Cheers dan ps Where did you get the jew ?
  5. Hi, The tubes are just on the inside of the bay right near the lighthouse. Never heard of deivls elbow and cant find it on the map. Just be very careful of where you fish in the whole area around jervis bay as it is a marine park and there are lots of areas which fishing is banned in. You should research it out a bit before you go as you dont want to get fined. Maritime, waterways, fisheries all would have information or maps. I have a boat so i havn't done much rock fishing around there but callala bay and honeymoon bay is good for squid, tailor and salmon should be around all rocks now even luderick would too. Cheers Dan.
  6. Hi Raiders, On saturday went with my girlfriend to penrith around 6am, launched my boat and headed up river in the hope to muscle up to some nice bass and test out my new electric motor that i just got. water temp was 18 degrees, air temp felt like -5 with the wind chill factor. Tried surface lures, divers and finally after around 3 hours cast a gold spinner bait right under a rock ledge where my dad pulled a nice 48 cm bass out of 2 years ago and hooked up ! After a few runs and a couple of minuites later i had a nice 40 cm bas in the net, a few happy snaps and released it to fight again another day. It was a personal best for me i have caught 3 or 4 at 38 cm but could just not crack that size. In a little over a week i will be going up to Glenbawn dam for a few days so with any luck i just might improve on my pb. I have heard the dam fish get a lot fatter and bigger than the river fish
  7. Hi TG, Thanks for your reply. Im just cutting my teeth at trout fishing too i have been to Lyle twice in the last four months and only managed a gold fish and my girlfriend has out fished me so far with one nice small rainbow. Its totally diferent fishing compared to salt water fishing and it is much, much more slower and laid back. I take my four metre tinny up there when i go and do a bit of trolling with the tassies etc. I know the trout like the powerbait as last time i was there i pu;;ed up on the bank and cast out a few bait and as i was doing soi happened to drop some powerbait in the water next to me then half an hour later there was a splash and it was gone Anyway i might see you round there one time. cheers Dan
  8. Hi Tommy G, When you use the Gulp do you use a float or a sinker ? cheers Dan.
