G'day gang! This story has got to be told.I went up to Brunswick Heads for a 2week break to see my sis and lots of fishng.I hired a tinnie and armed myself 2 rod,live worms and untold lures both SPs and hard bodies .Well as time wore on with no keepers I was getting desperate. So I decided on a slow troll. Five min's in and THUMP I'm on I spin the boat into into the middle of the river and kill the motor (mistake)I've now got about 40m of line out and winding like a man possessed.But dew to an outgoing tide and river flow .I'm drifting down river .With a rampaging fish heading up stream.So with dreams of a Jack or Jew running through my head.I restart the motor and give chase.Doing all this while fighting a fish was a very steep learning curve .Slowly and with the motor on low and a light touch here and there I gained line and got over the top of him and killed the motor (you'ed think I'd have learnt)started to pump and wind .Within a min or two I got my fist look at him .A flash of silver and he was gone again.A bit more pump and wind and I had him in view a good Trever.But he was'nt beaten yet .One look at my mug and he headed for the deapths again. That was his last.But as he nears the surface I look up to see I'm drifting toward a rocky point .Two or three more pumops and he's on top .I grab the leader and swing him abord just as the boat nudge's up against the rocks .A quick push off with the ore I restart the motor and I'm out of trouuble.And here he is 2kg of Teavaly .Can any one tell me what type

Went out on the rock on Sat to chase a few blackies.Not a bad day all up.Fished for about 2 hours for 3 blackies with a few missed fish inbetween.And a fist for me a surgon fish.Man thay go hard pretty too.Also not bad on the plate either

I got this little fella of the beach at Brunswick heads.He's got a mean spike on he's gill covers.That thankfully saw before I grabed him

G'day gang! I'm off to Ocean Shores(other side of the river to Brunswick Heads) on Sat for 2 weeks of fishing ,fun and food .The rods, reels and lures are packed.Thought some clothes in to protect every thing.Now all I need is some info on land based spots around the river and the beach ie: bream,blackfish,flathead,whiting,or possibly jacks and jews in the river.I will hirer a boat for a day or two. Thank you in advance.

Aaaaar takes me back to when I was a kid.My farther was a marster tooth puller.The hard part was waiting for the tooth to be lose enough to be pull out.And here is a word of warning. If you want to try this. Make shure the tooth is very lose.or there will be tears

G'day clem Mate be careful down there.I fish the area regulary.As luderick59 said the pool at south Curl Curl is a far better bet with a bit of swell.Just flick your bait out toward the reef and let it wash back to the beach. Or you cauld fish the beach itself

G'day gang !Now thats a nice way to start a day.And a feed is the bonus. I would think that the salom has had a lucky escape from dolphans before.And has'nt been able to feed to well.Hence a bit on the slim side and the tail looks larger

Thanks to all.I'm recovering pretty well just a little slow in move thats all.Yep sure is a great place for a recovery.A even better place to live.I'll be going up there a fair bit in the future to give a hand aroud the place.As her husband died christmas 07.The traded of is when I've finnished for the day I sit on the jetty and fish. Hi Raiders First up I think I owe an apology.I posted a cartoon that was found to be offensive to some people.So I do apologize to all for lack of thought.And will think before I post in the future. Ok that over with.I just had 3 weeks off.Due to a herenia opp.But I manage to get up to my sisters place on Berowa Waters for a few days.Man what lesson in frustration in 3 days I got 1 bream at 27cm.The rest of the time was spent retieing hooks.There must have been millions of little chopper taylor.Every time I put a bait out the hook cut off or SP was either had the tail chopped off or cut off right behinde the hook.Must have gone through 2 pac's of 1/0 &2/0 hooks. And I don't want think about the amount of SPs.But as you can see from the pic's still a nice place to recover.

Well gang I'm going to hospital Tues for a hernia opp. So I'm going to be out of action for a while.Yhe thought of on fishing for 3-4 weeks.Is just depressing To mack things worse is I carn't have a drink on Aust Day.

G'day Gang! Went for a walk down to Banty Bay on SunGot to the warf right on hight tide.Took a few outfits with me alight bream outfit (6pound bread)and a heavy outfit (12kg braid) I good aray of SPs and HBs.Now guess wich one all 3 kings hit .1st one spat the hook. 2nd I allmost got in even managed to stear him away from the pylons,Byt the bugger found the oystres beside the warf .3rd Well car'nt blame anyone but myself that I had shakes after the seconed fish and my leader knot failed on the second run .I spent 3/4 of an hour on the heaver outfit but do you think they would touch it (noway) The SP that I had all the fun on was a Gulp 2" shrimp.But DAM IT WAS FUN

G'day Luke yer mate I know were your comeing from I got a 45cm model there a week or two back.Good to see there still there I thought there was to much sand in there at the moment.Might have to get back down there.Well done great fish

Gday gang! Yep anoyher PB blackie.Unfortunately it was'nt mine. I was uot fishing the stones on Mon.And the bloke beside me landed a blackie of at least 50+cm. He's part of a regular bunch that get down to this spot that I fish with.I watched him hook up and was wondering why it was takeing him so long to land this fish .When he got it up I knew why.We were both gob smacked
