  8. Fisherman rescued after hours at sea 12:07 AEST Sat Aug 1 2009 A fisherman has been winched to safety four hours after falling overboard into freezing waters along the NSW coast, police say. Shortly after midnight (AEST) on Saturday two men set off from Little Beach at Nelson Bay on the state's north coast in a five-metre runabout. "Emergency services were alerted about 3.15am after one of the men, aged 50, fell from the boat as it headed towards Broughton Island," police said in a statement. Searches by air and sea began in an attempt to find the man. About 7.20am (AEST) the helicopter crew spotted the man before winching him to safety. He was taken to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital suffering hypothermia and has since been reported to be in a stable condition. The second man from the boat has been interviewed by police.

  14. Indeed Geoff, very important. After we establish what species we can look at suitable venues. We chose the locations previously after careful risk assessment and other considerations. We have to look at access for all including disabled, toilet facilities etc. Some areas we pay the council for use and access depending on amount of people attending. There is actually a lot that goes on behind the scenes of a fishraider social and thank you for your input. Cheers mrsswordfisherman
