  6. Roberta the food was sensational. As you know I have worked around hospitals for 30 yrs. The choices were excellent and all food was served hot and fresh. We were even offered various types of coffee, barista style!! I guess that is why I will NEVER give up my top health cover. Choice of specialist and hospital services is well worth it when ill. Cheers mrsswordfisherman
  7. A very big thanks to everyone who has posted wishes here and sent me emails and personal messages. I am back on my feet again and feeling fabbo. I was discharged today. A for the special staff at St Vincent's Private Hospital for their excellent service - nursing, catering and allied health. Now back to business - there appears to be some naughty boys around at the moment I will be contacting the invigilators to organise our MROCP course and looking at our hairtail weekend details that is coming up very soon. Watch for news on the sponsors tuna day scheduled for this Sunday - weather gods are not being kind so far are they grrrrrrrrrrrrr Once again thanks all Cheers mrsswordfisherman
  8. Not quite sure what you are saying here Waynie. I think thank you for the best wishes. My back problem stems from 30 years of nursing sick patients - back in the "old days" when we did not have lifting equipment. A disk has finally caught up with me but it wont beat me Swordfisherman is the best nurse I could ever have - he looks after me like a princess always mrsswordfisherman A big thank you to all for the best wishes. I have my laptop with me at hospital and found "patnet" and logged on - very good hospital this is My old nurses back will be better soon I hope and I will be up and about in no time. Cheer Donna

  10. Good idea slinky but time is short. Check out some more info in this post in the meantime HAIRTAIL NEEDS
  11. Ok here we go for the Hairtail Fishers . You will need wire traces around 20 inches long Ganged hooks in the 3 to 4/0 class by threes or fours ganged Starlites ,small cylume sticks which glow in the dark when bent slighlty in the centre to mix the chemicals and shaken lightly Tackle ,Any good thread line ofr overhead config that can handle 3 to 6 kgs if after hairtail and maybe a 10 kg stick if you are after some Jews perhaps . And last but not least the landing pliers with as long a handles as possible and large serated teeth to grip the heads of the Chrome Beasties .The way to land them is hold the wire trace with the hairtails head on the gunwhale and grab them as hard as you can between the eyes and then with a very firm grip hoist them over the side and into a fish box ,unclipping the gangs till your quarry has died and then the hooks are easier to remove You will need several made up sets of gangs to do this Pic as follows Burley is any good mix of chook pellets and tuna oil and a few pillies or a can of cat food in the bucket Bait is pillies or live yakkas or any other small hardy head you may catch . Cheers Swordfisherman This post was made by swordfisherman 2006 before the same event that year. Here is a link to one of our articles HOW TO CATCH HAIRTAIL

There is an enrolment day on July 3rd at Richmond 1pm - 7pm for anyone interested as GeekFisherman mentioned. I have attached the pdf of the course outline for anyone that wants it. Kay Carter is the Head Teacher (woohoo a woman) and her details appear on the pdf download. FISHING_COURSE.pdf Here is a link to the TAFE Western Sydney Institute WS TAFE Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  21. Anyone interested in some more workshops? Please let me know what sort of topics you would like to have presented. I am talking to the Maritime people to hold a boating safety/info night. Questions can be asked regarding legislative changes and their impact for us all. An evening presented by the TAFE people on the various courses available has been suggested also. There are tons of topics that people are interested in - share your ideas and we will get some evenings happening. Cheers mrsswordfisherman PS If anyone reading has expertise in specific areas and would like to present please send me details via PM or email
  22. I will do some "fishing" around and see what info I can find. I have many connections in the TAFE sector. Perhaps I can ask a TAFE person to hold an info session for us. Cheers mrsswordfisherman
