  1. MARINE RADIO OPERATORS CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY COURSE OPEN TO ALL FISHRAIDERS DATE AND TIMES: Sat 16th August 2008 8.30am till 5pm Sat 23rd August 2008 10am till 1pm for your EXAM VENUE: KINGSGROVE RSL BROCKLEHURST LANE KINGSGROVE NSW 2208 Ph: 9150 8466 COST: $150 per person This includes your MROCP handbook, your exam fee and your lunch and morning and afternoon tea. This Government approved course is to be delivered by registered OMC invigilators. Mr Bob Foster comes to us with many years of experience as Flotilla Commander with Coast Guard Sydney until his retirement. His offsider will be Mr Harry Parsons who took the helm as Flotilla Commander after Bob. Please add your name here asap. The numbers are limited and we need time to purchase the handbooks from Australian Maritime College in Tasmania. Money will need to be paid to confirm your attendance. Details of this will be posted when participant numbers are clearer. This is an excellent opportunity for fishraider members to gain the skill and knowledge essential for confident and responsible use of a marine radio, including exposure to distress and safety procedures. Don't forget that penalties for operating a VHF radio without a certificate includes fines of up to $165,000 and even imprisonment. 2. Hi tailwalk, I sent you a personal message on 11 June regarding the moving of that post. Fishraider is predominantly a fishing forum. We allow people to post up items they own that they no longer use or want. Most other websites require a member to have made a required amount of posts to even enter up items to sell or swap. We are not ebay and we may even start that minimum post rule up on fishraider. Keep the items for sale in the swap and sell section and let everyone enjoy the fishing reports and sharing of experiences in the other sections. mrsswordfisherman

  20. Our webmaster has added some new features for us all. In the Public Bar you will find 2ky Hi-Tide podcasts and a link to listen to 2ky streaming live Some of you will ask "What is a podcast"? Welcome to podcasting! A podcast, simply put, is a radio show that you can download onto your computer or portable media device and listen to whenever you want. You can download specific podcasts when one interests you, or subscribe to our podcast feed so that it automatically downloads onto your computer whenever a new podcast is available. Anyone with a computer connected to the internet can download and listen to podcasts. You will need an audio media player on your computer (many PCs come with Windows Media Player), and you'll also need speakers or headphones. You can also transfer the downloads onto a portable player like an iPod or mp3 player so you can then listen to them on the move. So there you go - you can listen to previous Hi Tide shows and indeed today's show right here from fishraider while you read some posts or you can load into your player and listen anywhere you like. You may also access from the RSS feed on lower left of forum page to subscribe to the feed. Enjoy Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  22. Thanks Jimmy and all All raiders are great folks usually - those that arn't don't get to be part of our raider famliy for very long Cheers mrsswordfisherman
  23. The swap and sell area on fishraider is for members to offer up their personal items that they no longer have use for. If an item is listed on ebay, boatpoint, trading post or any other online buy/sell forum please do not post it concurrently on here. If your item/s fail to sell on those other forums then you may list them here. It is not fair to our members who enquire to buy an item to be told that it has been sold on ebay etc... and a waste of everyone's time. mrsswordfisherman
  24. Pretty good Kirkby - let's see you grab the overall winner for the month soon Cheers mrsswordfisherman
  25. Too right Dave - we are very lucky to have Huey onboard. Look after him raiders Cheers mrsswordfisherman
