  1. Hmmmm I don't think they want to go to Oxford Street Swordie, and I don't mean the Oxford Tavern. Perhaps the Taxi Club might suit ..................... :whistling:

A review on the Petersham venue :biggrin2:

Good if you are 18 to 21 looking to ogle at a pair of **** with the mates, and the jelly wrestling is fun if you have never seen jelly wrestling before, however the standard fair is very average topless barmaids in the public bar (better ones in the pokie room), and a bar full of males desperate to gawk at whatever **** and lingerie they can. No females whatsoever other than staff and entertainers frequent the place. So if the mood is to look, or have a bachelor party sure, if it is to have a quite drink, with friendly locals or to have a drink with a mixed group (ie at least one female in the group), give it a miss. Yes, the beers are cheap, but that just means more desperates.

Now you guys are not between 18 and 21 are you :biggrin2::biggrin2:

  2. There are those days :( but it just makes us keener for the next trip out ...eh? There must be something sadly wrong with us do you think?

By the way Female Fisho I think I need to talk to your other half. I'd really like to know how he 'converted' you to a fanatical fishing type person. I must be doing something wrong. :biggrin2::biggrin2:

    Wombat

Wombat, did you ever think it may be femalefisho that converted her bloke to fishing??? :074::074:

  3. If you want a serious chance at a grander Blue or Black Marlin + oodles of Yellowfin & other game species then you can't go past Vanuatu.

I'm mates with the skipper of Nevagivup, a state of the art 34ft Blackwatch. He's part of the Southpacific anglers group over there. E.T did a show on it about a year ago. They also have a 43ft luxury Mariner cruiser.

Last time I was there we tagged a 400lb Blue & jumped 1 off that was 600lb+. That was on a half day charter!

The guys own the Harbour Villa. A beautiful waterfront house with pool & cook for the guests. The boat picks you up from your backyard each day. It's also very close to town.

Dean Butler takes groups over there to try for Marlin records on Fly gear.

Costs for flights, 7 nights in the Villa, lunch & dinner, 5 full days game fishing & airport transfers cost about $3000.00. Awesome value for what you get.

You would need a minimum of four & maximum of 10 for 1 or both boats.

Let us know if you need more info,

    Cheers,

    Grant.

Thanks for that info Grant. I actually saw that Blackwatch the other day when I was surfing and checking out Dean Butler's tours. Kahuna Charters (South Pacific Anglers affiliate) has some good pics of Nevegivup on their site. The Kahuna looks fabbo too. Is Cappy Flash your mate? Have you been out with these guys?

So many excellent places to check out arn't there.

  5. y not have a band across the front at chest level of all the fish, or better still have FISHRAIDER across the front with the pictures inside the letters?

I have removed the link and added the image instead

Hey Aron that is really nice work and a good selection of fish there. Thank you for sharing that with us. I am very new to the sport of fishing and I have realised that most fishos just enjoy catching fish of any description and not one particular species. I guess it could get a little boring just targetting one type of fish. I am finding it more of a challenge to try out the various methods of casting and retrieving and am surprised at the results. Sorry to get off topic here :biggrin2: .

Hooky and Tony, the hairtail hmmmm lets see our results after the June Hairtail weekend. I have heard so much about these buggers and I wanna see some.

  6. Watching the IFISH story today on Fiji set me and swordfisherman thinking about a fishing trip/holiday there.

Perhaps there are some other raiders out there that would enjoy a holiday there :1fishing1: . Group rates are cheaper and charters would be exclusively FR members.

    Anyone interested?

Ah, Thailand....what a place. good thing :wife: could keep you in check.

He was probably asking you about your rod..... they have that flair don't they?

Um these "men" didn't have any rods and I have the pics to prove that :074: , most of them are heavy smokers too ........
