  1. great looking lunch and set of future baits there, interesting that blue jig colour is working at the moment, might have to look into that as a back up option.
  2. That is a weird looking fish, at first glance I would call it a leather jacket but everytime I look at it it looks less like one, the trev is an okay size though.
  3. Nice squid there, its great when they are on the chew other wise it can be SOOO frustrating
  4. Nice bonitos and bream, was the wine during or after the fishing session?
  5. OMG I don't know whether to laugh or cry, getting a meal and a massage
  6. Nice going there with the inkers, been hard lately to catch them due to the rain
  7. Wish I was the boss and could take monday off, seas are looking good, high tide is a bit late in the monring but is coming off a new moon
  8. 97 days of fishing is pretty impressive, hoping to acheive something similar in the future.

Interesting side catch and no mullet there!!!!
  10. Nice drummer, always love hauling fish up onto rock ledges (or wharves/jetties) almost as heart stopping as fighting the fish
  11. That catch looks very similar to mine, except I caught a Pinkie just under legal size and he went back. The Blue swimmer was very tasty for lunch though Do you have any idea how difficult it is to extract a grumpy crab from a sink, I had two BBQ tongs in my hands and fought claw to claw for several minutes
  12. After starting recovery from the best timed stomach bug in History (it hit wednesday night) I hit middle harbour landbased just before low tide with a heap of squid from earlier sessions to try for 1, a jew or 2, a feed. threw everything I had at the harbour, whole squid, live yakka, squid strips, squid head, under a float near the surface/near the floor or off the floor I ended up with; 1 very angry and ugly eel (which I hate); 3 just under legal snapper (and several bigger hits I missed); 2 big hits on the yakka and squid, missed both; and a nice sized blue swimmer which manged to wrap itself in the leader of the paternoster rig, so the gets it for lunch today as I am still on iced tea and boiled potato. Shall try again tomorrow with aim of getting a few more yakkas and then trying for some legal snapper
  13. superb fish there, that's a lot fish for Good Friday, Happy Easter
  14. Good session there, hate it when cheap gear breaks while catching something, I hate it even more when good equipment breaks.
  15. Thanks for that, my experience is limited to Penn (lots of reels and rods) and a little bit of shakespeare (rod and reel separately) I have no qualms with either even the cheap Penn reels hold up quite well (2 years and counting touch wood) but this outfit will be my most used outfit and might even use it for SP if I get around to it so I plan to get something a little lighter and durable that a penn 3 BB outfit.
  16. I recently purchased a Shakespeare synergy rod 6-12 pd 6'6' and looking at options for a reel to $100. Aiming for say 8 pound mono with the aim being for bait fishing, squid jigging and occasional bream, flattie etc session. I have a limited budget so under the budget is better than over. Thanks
  17. Poor guys having to put up with the junk fish up that way. Be easier to stay at home and than put up with catching cod like that. Nice Flattie though
  18. Having just cameback from Japan I can attest that unless a special is on you will find most of the expensive gear (reels and rods) will line ball with australia. I agree with Jewgaffer to give Go Fish Pete a call and aim to get smaller items that are made in the US whilst over there. BTW I did get a heap of Yamashita and Yo-zuris whilst in Japan which have been killers for the Squid, but I left the big purchases for here as I tend to break things and like the warranty.
  19. Great haul of fish there, fantastic isn't it when you are in the right spot at the right time with the right gear
  20. Intersting catch there of a Grinner, a Trev is better than nothing and great when someone shows you a new trick such as catching slimies
  21. That's a nice Kingy, looking forward to hitting a few spots in Middle Harbour for Jews and Kingies from tomorrow.
  22. more like homebush bay sand whiting, should see them glow at night
  23. OMG what a horse of a Bream, that is not a plate fish makes my efforts dull by comparison
  24. Gee the tailor on the bite at the moment or what, pity about the Jews, there is always next time though.
  25. nice effort on first Jewie, stuck at home with a freezer full of squid heads and I have gastro, great timing for easter!!!
