  1. It would be more economic to get a small 12v heater. Even if it blows just warm air.. An invterer would most likely die within the firt attempt as the current draw is too great. You would need atleast a 1000W and PURE sinewave. Heating elements suck alot of ampres. Pete.

    Happy Birthday

hey james, you mean money to buy the fish???
  4. When people couldn't pronounce my surname I used to always say "traysexy". So it started from there:). I've had it for a few years now and thought it should be a good fishraider I.D:) pete:)
  5. ..If in doubt, don't go out:)
  6. Maybe they could use some of the 40t of lube so it isn't that rough to ease off the sand? pete.
  7. hmm, looks like a nice easy boat to launch single handed:). cheers, pete.
  8. Does she have a live bait tank??? How many can she tow comfortably? Seems like she can be retrieved from the beach - great:) cheers, pete
  9. Digital is great.. Especially if you shoot in RAW.. RAW is number one. you just loose too much in jpeg:( cheers, pete.
  10. Woah, arn't I'm glad that I hardly go out in the boat anymore. Would be a nightmare there on a sunday. With the amount of idiots there, would be fun to do it in the middle of summer:)
  11. Solar is definately an excellent option. I have just installed a 45W solar panal to charge a sealed battery. This pumps out on avergae 2Amps per hour, depending on lighting condition. Most panals that you plug directly in your ciggy lighter, are around the 250mA mark and just enough to keep a battery topped up. Many of them don't come with a regulation circuit, although it is possibly to just fit a diode in line to stop discharge going back into your battery. Alternately, a regulator for a small panal is only about $30. As for cable extensions, use a good quality cable so you doing get any voltage drop along a distance. Give me a PM if you want to know anything solar:) pete.
  12. a 70-300m wouldn't do the job at all mate.. you need atleast a 800m and you are looking and quite a fair few dollars for one of those.. as said 300mm, is only good for closeups at about 50m... ... as it only produces about 22X zoom depending on sensor size.... definately go larger, even better a video camera:)woot:D pete.
  13. Unfortunately working is retail is a thankless job.. I'm doing it now and thats only because I need to wait for an offer to come up somewhere else. The whole ' the customer is always right" is a load of crap and my retail trainer tells me that. I have had numerous people come in insist that they purchase a second hand product/damaged product although I know 100% that there was nothing wrong with it when they left the store. The can try and pull all that 'dept of fair trading' as much as they like, although when an item has been damaged outside of the store, the warranty is VOID. I'm talking about serious cases here. items such as cartridges, I would gladely offer a over-the-counter replacement such as in your case. I have had many people phone me up on the day saying that something is missing and I would agree 100%. I understand that sometimes sales people can give you the craps, although unfortunately we just follow the rules:(.. or you can be like me and make your own:) you should have been given a replacement the next trading day. end of story.. cheers, pete
  14. Paintball is absolutely great!!! I would personally recommed bringing you own camo gear if you own some. The Jumpsuits are just too difficult to move around in. It's only painfull if your stupid and get shot:d hehe cheers, pete.
  15. My sounder is always reading large fish, I think I should have spend the extra $50 and gottern a better unit!.. I don't think there would be 'massive' fish in what it reads at 3m of water..lol not if I can see the bottom and not see anything *hits sounder* I really need to take it off auto and experiment - oh, one day.. cheers pete.
  16. The majority of the fishing was done directly infront of the boat ramp on the lansvale side. Also, there is a Island section, unfamilar with the actual name of it. Between the entrace to the lake from gillawanna and that island produced some depth of 8m+ so also tried there.. cheers, pete
  17. Went for a quick SP flick around there today. Hadn't fired up the boat in a few months, so decided to get the hull wet for a bit. Unfortunately nothing was gained and most of all, nothing lost:). Although, there was pleanty of mullet action jumping around. The lakes have really come alive since the last time I was there. Better luck next time - I say that everytime:) Cheers, Pete.
  18. Don't worry dom, you'll be the first person I'll call to come around and clean the noosacat down. wwoo L:)..Anchor puller? oh my, it's allll automatic mate.. No manual labour apart from reeling in:) cheers, pete.
  19. Excellent stuff Mondo. Shall have to check those out within the next week. Have one more week holidays before I head back to work, so should have time to head to either one of those and check out the action. And definately another trip to coal cliff. That seems to be my place to visit for some beach action:) A bit of a drive, but worth it I think.. Thanks buddy, Pete:)
  20. Sydney beaches being the ones that I have been to Mondo. Only a few which I found that Cronulla wasn't too bad the times I have been. South cronulla that is and only early morning to beat everyone. Generally arrive there at about 4am, and leave 10ish. Never fished off Manly if yourself or anyone has any thoughts about that one?.. pete
  21. Dave, I can barely remember the last time I took the boat out. I wonder if the motor still cranks or still has half the georges river in the water inlet? Most likely still has the tackle box spread open around the floor and that fish smell that will stay with it till it's departing. It was good while it lasted mate. Gave me soemthing to do doing it up and that, now it' time for something bigger and most certinally better:D pete:)
  22. Just came back from a few days down at Ulladulla and mannnn, and I disappointed:(.. Arrived on Good Friday and decided to hit Ulladulla breakwall with some livies caught on the spot..All that effort=nothing!... Managed to catch a few tailor using some prawns that we picked up on the way down and were rewarded with some small bream. Great on the light line that were were using the catch the livies. Compared the previous year, when schools where comming right into the harbour and excellent results where had. Over the next few days, we hit the local beaches and also burril lake for the odd flathead+bream and to my suprise, some Garfish also!-woot! This year we decided to leave the boat at home and just go from the shore - well I decided and the rest need to follow:) - Both sets of keys in my possession;) Just returned back to sydney a few hours ago and already planning the hit the beaches again in sydney. I find that they are more productive then down south - my opinion anyway... Also, am saving up for a new boat, but I know thats not going to last long.. Cheers, Pete.
  23. I've been off all this week and return on the 17th. I love annual leave:)...Leaving for Ulladulla tomorrow, going to hit the beaches!
  24. Yep, thats right dom! And it was my idea too. Had to try out the new rod, it casts like crap, but it looks good, so I guess thats a good thing too;) The wind wasn't in my direction so I couldn't try the float idea, better luck next time I hope. Waiting for the ulladulla snapper! woot pete.
