  1. No fishing for me either. There's work to be done at home as well as on my tinnie decks. Bloody bi-centennial project. No pub at this stage, well maybe a late arvo sesh, but if you happen to be driving around, again, and spot me in the passengers seat of the 4be , you know where I'll be headin'. Have a good weekend Raiders. cheers Hooky
  2. Saturday, I'm taking the daughter fishing on the Georges, probably a late start of around 10'ish. Sunday, not sure yet. Monday is the day. Twelve of "the boys" get together for our yearly Anzac Day golf game and the arvo is set aside for two-up. I absolutely can't stand golf, it sux big time but I still own a set of old clubs which get used about three times a year. It's the socialising I enjoy, so that makes up for having to play golf. Besides, I don't mind a beer at 7.30 in the morning when the occasion suits. Have a good loooong weekend Raiders and thankyou to those who are to be remembered on Anzac day. cheers Hooky
  3. G'day ando, Try this link for info. Patches
  4. I've never used an SP for a white bait substitute, but I reckon the new squidgy flick bait in the "Evil Minnow" colour would be a good presentation. I have a pack or two of these but have never really given them a proper workout. Also, if the "Juro Firebaits" came in a similar colour to a white bait, then they would have to be a go'er as well. Good to hear from anyone else on this topic with some suggestions.
  5. Hopefully I can get time to duck over to Carringbah tomorrow to get a new tip for my spin stick, then Saturday I hope to duck up to Chippo' for a flick at around midday or earlier......weather permitting. If I'm not fishing on Saturday I'll be at the usual place. Sunday, no Ausbream for me, I need to do some yard work which has been neglected lately. Have a good weekend Raiders. cheers Hooky
  6. G'day Jethro Do you have any idea of what the rules are? Are they the same as ABT, eg live well size, motor size etc?
  7. Saturday is a bit sketchy but probably work on my front casting deck and install a lean seat to make controling the MG a bit more comfortable. Maybe the pub in the arvo but not too sure yet. Sunday, maybe a flick at Chippo' or just bum around the house doing nothing. Have a good weekend Raiders. cheers Hooky
  8. Well done there lizard, certainly looks like a great place to be Great pics as well.
  9. It all makes sense to me Ken. Myself and the boys are slowly working our way outside for some different types of fishing and it's always good to know the reasons behind what's on a boat eg tackle, rods etc and why.
  10. That's gotta be a gee up there Ken. Hoping for a bream or two were we? Great pics and it looks like great conditions as well. Hopefully Forster will give you some great fishing in the future. cheers Hooky
  11. G'day Golden It's been open to boats for a few months now but if the level keeps falling at the rate it is at the moment, it won't be long before it is closed to boats again.
  12. G'day Andrew It is a big lake when it is full of water but even at 25% there is enough water to accomodate fisho's and skiers alike. There are a couple of ramps but at the moment there is only one that is any good due to the water level.
  13. G'day Matt I was up there from 12 midday on Thursday and left at around 11 am yesterday. I didn't keep count after Friday but it would have been at least 35+. Lost fish at the boat were common and also lost fish after the initial strike. When I got there on Thursday I started trolling with Tassie Devils but then I noticed a lot of small gudgeons in the shallows so I changed to the SX-40's. A lot of the bigger 40+ cm fish were caught in 10 - 12 metres but the fish were cruising in the 3-4 metre range. BTW, nightly campfire stories and alcohol consumption meant the days started at around 9 - 9.30am and we probably fished for around 6 hours per day. cheers Hooky
  14. G'day Raiders I just spent four days fishing Lake Lyel for trout and with very good results using the Ecogear SX-40 hard body lures. I trolled for most of the time using the SX-40 and found them to be quite a good trolling lure for trout. They were best trolled at a speed of less than 2 knots and at a distance of about 20 - 25 metres from the back of the boat. I'm not sure as to the depth they were diving to but in some areas I was trolling over a depth of around 2.5 metres without the lure hitting the bottom of the lake. The lures that were used and both coming up with equal hits were the #301 Gold Coast Special and the #306 Sydney Harbour Guppy. cheers Hooky
  15. As soon as I feel the sniffles coming on I head straight for the Vitamin C tablets. The orange berocca soluble fizzy type ones work the best. One in the morning and one before bed. Always works for me and it's been a few years since I've suffered from the flu/cold. Probably just put the mockers on myself. cheers Hooky
  16. G'day Yellow, when you say Jesson do you mean Jeston as in Steve Jeston of Hyperspace Fishing Tours. http://www.anglingadventures.com.au/hinch.html Sounds like an awesome trip and deffinately one I'd be up for some time down the track. I've seen him plenty of times on the Fish 'N' 4wheels show and his knowledge and guidance seems to be up there with the best.
  17. 'Ya right Jo. $25.95 this month. Still too expensive even at that price.
  18. I'm for the other, ie "all of the above."
  19. Hooky.

    Fave Species

I picked trout. I still enjoy trouting better than other forms of angling but only for the reason that it involves camping and fresh water. Gotta love not having that crusty feel all over everything. cheers Hooky
  20. Good question Mitch. Wouldn't mind knowing some more info re colours and when to use which colour, type and size etc.
  21. G'day rob, I'm pretty sure Gabes at Narellan has them or at least he did last weekend.
  22. No fishing for me this weekend. No pub either. I'll be more than likely working on getting my last piece of casting deck up the front end of my tinnie and installing a lean seat as well. Other than that I'll probably just bum around the house, have a quick nap here and there, maybe watch some fishing videos and have a nap whilst curled up in the recliner watching those videos. All sounds good to me. Have a good weekend everyone. cheers Hooky
