Yeah not sure about viewing problems as i dont have the 1kw transducer. I know Offtap1 has a 1kw transducer (think its a Furuno too), might be worthwhile asking him how his performs in shallow water. Cheers

What sort of fishing will you be doing? Offshore work (deep water) inshore (to 150m) or bay estuary stuff? I have a Lawrance with 200/50 transducer which picks up easily to 200m at trolling speed, much deeper when drifting or at rest

The old man and myself were thinking of heading north for a week chasing barra and hopefully some offshore species. Was after some Raiders input on... 1. Where to go 2. What time of year 3. What charters to go on 4. An approx price for a trip like this If anyone has been up north on a similar holiday i would be greatfull for any advice etc. Cheers Brett Would preferably be able to go offshore as well as barra fishing.

Good stuff Sammy, Looks like it will be ready for you to give it a good test run before the Entrance Social. Then maybe a 10-15kg jew on the new rod at the social to take out the prize. What line weight and length is it? what reel are you going to match it up with??

The dollies wernt prolific but constant, we only hung around enough to get a feed. Got half a dozen before we left, but probably could have hung around for more.

Just a quick report. Went out early on Tuesday. Hit the close and far Botany Fads. There were a few dollies around, taking lures and pillies. Got ourselves a feed and went in search for the marlin. Trolled around Browns and the Shelf for 0's Went past the Fads on the way home, nothing interested. Heres a couple of pics of the boys with the dollies. Sharky Ben
