  1. Probably one of the seals I hooked on to with my 2-4kg outfit on a peice of pilchard
  2. If you're burleying, it might come down to the type or thickness of leader you're using.
  3. Yeah that whiting looks like it's got some good muscle round the tail section, he would've given you a bit of grief on light gear.
  4. I havnt got the exact, but I do have a Sedona rear drag, FA model, and there is a double adjustment for the drag which allows you to back it right off and come up in small increments.
  5. Brando, when you become of age, you too will appreciate a schooner of liquid gold after a hot days fishing or any day of fishing.
  6. Loaf Bread mashed up with a cap full of tuna oil, mash bread up first, then add oil, stir with cooking spoon.A couple of big scoops off the bat to get them in the area, then little ones after that. 3kg line, with a 3 hook paternoster and a small lead at the bottom, but I upside it to 5kg last week, hooked onto something bigger than a yakka, I'm thinking bonito or small king, that was peeling off drag like it wasn't even hooked, applied a bit more drag and the rig popped....worst part is I'll never know what it was.
  7. They DID make a good meal, there were some full stomachs and happy faces
  8. Like working OT at work, you take it when you can get it
  9. Even a bit of light will makes them switch off. If you want to get a half decent yakka session in I'd get there 400-430
  10. 2 men and 2 women using daddy's boat with out permission or boat licence.
  11. That's pretty heavy duty, good that you're here to type this up. Good luck getting justice.
  12. Alvey scratchie, you'll never visit the store again hahaha
  13. My friend, I will take it when I can get it haha and the first group of mates looked at me like I had just told them a really good joke when I said Im heading off for another session.
  14. When it comes to my favourite, it's a photo finish between beer and fishing, so like you said, a combination of both
  15. Yeah I'm not sure what's been going on recently, iv been getting out quite a bit, I'm waiting for her to ask or tell me something haha
  16. You can definitely pick up a shimano combo for around $100
  17. Do you keep a constant trail of burley? Molineux point has its days, but you can get all sorts of species there, and round the corner where the tug boats dock produces as well. Burley is the key.
  18. Thanks Krispy, but for every legal snapper there was 7 or 8 at 28cm, still, a good fight on 2-4kg...
  19. South coogee If you plan to go, scout it out during the day at a peak high tide, so you know what you can and can't access, and you don't get caught out. Wear cleats and a life jacket.
  20. Hi raiders Met some old buddys in the harbour for a bit of a boat session this morning. Left the ramp about 7am. Despite our efforts with heaps of burley going out, it was very quiet for most of the day until 3pm when the fish came on the chew, good to finish the day on a high we were out of the water by 430. Quick pit stop for a couple of schooners. Get a message on the way home, another mate was heading to the stones for a bit of a go. Had plenty of left over bait, the missus gave me clearance, chuck the rock hopping gear in the car and off I went. An hour and a half got me a good tarwhine and a silver trevally that gave me TONNES of curry.
  21. Living the dream there mate. I don't know when, but one day I'll get out on one of those bigtime charters. Until then Sydney will have to do. Well done.
  22. Puts out about 6kg of drag, maybe ok for smaller kings, it should do the job you want. A pretty good reel for the money.
  23. I convinced the old man to eat sashimi silver trevally about an hour ago, not sure how, he's usually pretty stubborn.
