  1. Hi Raiders, After about 3 months, I thought it was about time to get the boat out for a run. Not feeling like going too far, I decided to go for a run and maybe a fish in my local waters (Chippo Lakes) Decided on the ramp near the soccer fields as its usually very quiet, Was on the water by about 11am going solo and not knowing the ramp I had to think it through as the ramp had no pontoon or sandy area to beach the boat as I normally rope the boat off the trailer to the pontoon tie off etc. not to be deterred I decided to tie it to a tree secure it and park the trailer, the only issue I was yet to find out was how shallow it was as when I trimmed the motor down it hit the bottom... doh!!! anyway this was solved by pushing off with one of my oars, job done!!! boat started first go after 3 months Happy days and I was off. Gave it a very good run for at least 45 mins with the sounder on having a good look around at the structure and anything else that was of interest. Tried fishing a few spots south of the bridge that I believe is governor Macquarie Drive. Plenty of fish showing on the sounder and a few bites but unfortunately the jet-skiers kept coming past and spooking the fish, after several attempts at a few spots the sun got the better of me and I was starting to get a headache so I pulled the pin around 2pm. I was happy with the outing regardless as Its only a 20min drive and I gave the boat a very good run. Will be back to try it again as it looks quite promising maybe after a few weeks as the water was still quite filthy from the recent rain. Sorry raiders no pics and no fish caught but I just felt the need to share my outing with you all anyway. Hopefully my next outing is a little more productive, but we all say that !!!!! Tight lines, Regards, Nathan
  2. Thats a cracker Jew well done and to keep fishing after being out on the boat and go to the effort you did that's brilliant love your work!! Plus catching it in your undies that's Gold!!!! Regards, Nathan
  3. You're right, definitely in the hawkesbury pittwater area just can't remember exactly where never been to NZ but it's on my long list of things to do
  4. Nice Boat, wish my Camry would tow it LOL!!! Seriously that's one fine vessel you've got there. Regards, Nathan

  6. Hi Raiders, Just got back from a weekend away on the hawkesbury. Headed out from the Marina on Friday night so we could start bright and early Saturday morning. We dropped anchor around dangar island to brave the southerly as it was predicted to hit around 9ish and hang around most of Saturday which would have made it difficult for my mate to get his boat out of the marina. Anyway Saturday morning after breakfast, we fished various places around Dangar Island, the Rail bridge and then mullet creek which have been reliable for us in the past for a donut. The weather had improved by now so we ventured out to Little Patonga & managed a couple of bream around 30-35 cms and I landed a flattie on a soft vibe lure which was a first for me, at this stage it was getting close to dinner time so we upped anchor and headed into pittwater, grabbed a mooring and I cleaned the fish and we had a feed of bream flattie & bbq and a few beers then off to bed as we did not get much sleep the night before. Sunday morning after breakfast we decided to go for a cruise around pittwater, what a nice place would like to fish it one of these days but we had all had enough of fishing and just took in the scenery and eventually headed back to mullett creek for lunch then back to the marina to clean the boat and head home. here's a couple of photos of the scenery but sorry raiders no fish photos. Anyway Raiders, tight lines, lets hope things start to pick up now as fishing in general for me has been a little slow but not complaining as this weekend away was very much needed as I have not stopped since September last year. Regards, Nathan
  7. Nice Jewwie, I am out there this weekend if I get something like that Ill be totally wrapped!!!
  8. Out of Curiosity, what did you end up doing? did you try to look into it further or are you looking at other boats? I had a similar issue with my old boat that I rebuilt the trailer on, I moved up to qld for a year and took the boat with me got it registered up there no dramas but when coming back to NSW it was a nightmare to get it re-registered and mind you the trailer was originally registered in NSW it was just hard to read the vin on the trailer the mechanic that done the blueslip would not pass it, I basically ended up having to take it to the Vehicle Identification station in Penrith to prove that I owned the trailer and after they were satisfied they issued me with a new vin, it then had to be re-stamped, then a blueslip was issued it was a pain in the behind and very time consuming and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!! Regards, Nathan
  9. Honestly if they want to sell it and are honest they will assist you, if not there is something fishy id walk away from the deal. not worth the headaches mate honestly. plenty of other boats for sale!! Regards, Nathan

  13. LOL how true, soft plastics and lures seems to be the go with the Jewwies!!, in saying that the more time you spend on the water the better your chances are unfortunately I am only limited to weekends and holidays when they are possible. will get my jewie sooner or later may get out this weekend for another attempt if I get the chance. Regards, Nathan
  14. Couldn't agree more mate I had a few issues last year with family but I've put everything to the side and just decided to enjoy everyone's company and it's been well worth it we all have our differences of opinions but heck you must cherish every minute you have!! Fabian I truly hope 2017 is a good year for you and your family and look forward to reading more of your very informative posts. Keep up the good work!! Regards, Nathan
  15. It was a very short trip lol got to my folks house to grab the boat and I decided to pull the pin as the weather looked very dodgy, will give it a couple of days and see If I can get out, at least the boats ready to hook up and go!! just very frustrating sitting at work all week waiting for the weekend and the weather goes to crap!!! that's life I guess!!! Ill go through my tackle tonight and make up rigs and see what I need to buy. Regards, Nathan
  16. I guess there is only one way to find out! Hopefully I'll get one and you'll see a post Happy New Year Raiders!! Regards, Nathan
  17. Red Baitboy, Kinda makes sense as I always organize the bait for the trips and am usually red faced when I get out fished by my daughter lol
  18. Hi Raiders, Just thought Id ask the question, not after specifics but has anyone caught or heard jewwies being caught in the Parra River in the past few weeks? I went out last Friday and only got a couple of Bream, just wondering if anything has been happening as I am yet to land a legal sized jewie for 2016. The fishing seems a little on the slow side at the moment, hopefully things start picking up soon!! I have got a few In the Hawkesbury River this year but they were close to but not quite legal. Hoping to get out tonight if the weather holds up and see if I can get one just in time for the New Year. Regards, Nathan
  19. Great effort, and that trevally would have pulled like a steam train!!! good on you for getting out and having a go, as stewie mentioned a nice school jewie wont be too far off!!! Regards, Nathan

    Cracked welds

Good Pickup, I am doing the same thing these days checking everything and my dad reckons I take it too far sometimes but heck I don't care if I am 10 mins late to the boat ramp as long as I get there in one piece and have a good trip. Enjoy your trip to Nowra, will be very interested t know how your cerato goes towing down there or are you gonna take the hilux? Regards, Nathan
  22. Nice Lizard, you're kids will be talking about it for ages!!! Regards, Nathan
  23. Also worth Mentioning, take note of when you catch the fish and compile the data for a few months and see if you can establish a trend, I did this for a while but as I don't get out that much anymore Ive dropped the ball but one of these days ill get back into it, the other thing you could do to get solid data quicker is get a few mates to record data and put it together. Regards, Nathan
  24. Damn Sharks!!! its happened to me a few times too, I remember the last time half my rod was in the water and it was all over in a matter of seconds, mind you Id like to land one, one day but need to bring out the heavy tackle the other culprit that could have been responsible are big rays but the head shakes sounds more like sharks to me. Regards, Nathan
