  1. I had a couple of similar blunders. 1) I put a lure out with a cork still on the hook point. I didnt get hit though 2) Put out a lure got a strike from a beakie which stripped off a 100+ meters of line then nothing. Brought the lure in to check ot out. On inspection noticed that the crimp that held on the hook hadnt been crimped i just burnt the end, we didnt loose the hook the burnt end was enought to hold it all together, must have been bill wrapped. It was a Black Bart Super Pro $100 worth of lure, Very Lucky.
  2. I think that most waterways are going to have this problem for a while which is going to make it more dangerous than usual.
  3. Normally mate for game fishing you would travel on both motors and then when trolling just use one motor but alternate between the two every couple of hours
  4. I also think you should steer clear of the Navmans i currently have Navmans and i am unhappy with them and will be replacing them when possible. I will be looking at theLowrance and the Furono. Also same as nettic i am not using or looking at the top of the range sounders

  13. I fished wide off sydney yesterday with 3 onboard we hit the water at 7.00 and where greeted with the thickest fof i have ever encountered i was unable to see 50 meters infront of me so we slowy made our way across the bay and through the heads all on the GPS. Got out to about 70 meters and waited for the fog to lift. The conditions where unbelievable, there are more ripples in my bath tub than there where out there. We cruised out at 30 knots then set a spread of 6 big lures and teaser and began to troll, i had to troll at around 10-11 knots just to get some action out of the lures it was that flat After a couple of hours we had a strike on the shottie which didnt hook up so we continued wide and came across a great temp break that was full of life with birds, dolphins and crystal clear water, we trolled across a 0.5 degree break and then a marlin came up on the teaser then switched to the short corner swipped and missed the lure, it then came at the same lure again like a bullet and smashed it, i had 5 x 24 outfits and 1x15kg outfit and that was lure it took. Always the way After some awsome ariel jumping a great fight and some good angleing a 90-110kg striped Marlin was landed on 15KG and tagged, after a couple of snaps he was released and swam away. Great conditions and great fishing. Cheers Iain

  19. No mate thank you for the weekend out on your awsome boat I am a novice mate only been fishing for them for a few months, i could only pass on what good mate steve has tought me over the last couple of months, i have only just broken the surface, still miles to learn I am still spewing that we didnt land the fish, your one was as good as landed mate double on the spool and leader up. But thats why they are sucha sought after and prized catch for the simple face that they are so hard to land. Anyway mate looking foward to getting out there again with you mate. next trip out for me you have a seat on my boat Big congrats to joe aswell that is a sensational photo of a jumping fish Iain
