    Braid

I have just perchased some Power Pro Microfilament Line. The Brand is Spectra and this stuff amazing. When I did some break tests with Brian the 4.5kg line snapped at about 18 kgs on the game scales. The brade is white and casts very well. I will be respooling all my rods with this stuff. Its not cheap but if its going on a Stella I would match a high quality Braid to the high quality reel. I hope this helps.
  11. Sounds good people count me and the beanbag in. Are we going to base it around the caravan park again? (I love that place) perhaps on a weekend out of school holidays?

Why not get a burly bucket? All you have to do is put it in with some pillies and some old bread if you have some and it will feed out the holes in a steady, unbroken trail.
  13. Ian mate once again great first Marlin. My Family and friends extend there gratitute for such a tasty feed of fish. We had a BBQ and stuffed ourselves silly. Great tasting fish. Thanks again.

    Need Help

Just practise tieing your knotes faster mate. I practised while watching TV and after a while you can tie a knot really fast and cut down on rerigging time.
  15. I like the rods to but the only ones I have seen so far have been bream sticks. They look the good though
  16. Thats defianatly on the to do list I was just hoping another raider had something that fit the description or perhaps I would be able to pick one up off the rack.
  17. Hey all I have been looking for a heavy spin outfit for a while now and I still havnt been succesful. The rod I want will match up to either a 3500/4000 size certate or the new saltega 3500. Its main perpose will be casting heavy plastics at the wash zone from a boat or landbased. I also want to have a crack at jewies on plastics of the beach. I want to have a crack at some pelagics up north later on this year and be able to tame some lager kinds so basically an all round multi purpose heavy spin rod. 7 foot 6 is what Im after and I have found 2 rods that almost fit the bill the first one was a Loomis Bronzback 7-14 lb from memory and the second is a Diawa Morethan 5-10 lb 7/6. So I love the Morethan it is a 2 piece that would be easy to travel with and is as light a a feather but............ I just dont think it will be able to handle heavy drags and a full backload cast when using 1 ounce plastics. Suggestions would be great people so please help a fellow raider out. I dont mind paying for quality gear as long as I know I can fish it to its limits and still be confident that I wont loose the fish of a lifetime to gear failure. Cheers
