hit the water last night at about 11.30pm for an all nighter targeting jews. ended up with 9 boated fish kept 4 for the impending long weeknend bbq's not the biggest fish in the world but a feeds a feed i guess. we lost quite a few more fish again due to spat hooks and got bricked a couple times aswell. i had an epic battle on 6pound which lasted close to 25 mins only to get done when the fish was about 3 meters from the boat !!!!! anyways had a great night chasing them again. cheers hamerz.

hi mate i think what your talking about is a knob that adjust the tension of your gear stick. like sometimes if your cruising along you will find that your gear stick will slowly fall back and drop revs therefore slowing the boat down. what that knob does is tension or untension ur stick so that it dosnt slip back if you take your hand off the gear stick. cheers hamerz.

went for a bit of a jewbash last night and it paid off, left home at 10pm on the water by 10.45 catching the run out tide almost immediatly got hits we boated 7 fish 3 being keepers and 4 just on 45cm so i decided to let fight another day, a few missed runs and then the eels and rays reared their ugly heads so it was time to go home, by 3am the boat was back on the trailer and had 3 jews in the esky biggest going 62cm. water was 21.9degrees and there were small bait fish busting up all around us for most of the 3 hrs we were there. all fish were taken on 6pd main and 10pd leader, no touches on the heavier gear. sorry about the crappy pics but i only had the phone with me. cheers hamerz.

either should be fine depends on the what size reel and what pound line u using. if ur gonna use 50pd i'd probably go the 5-7kg especially if theres a good chance ur gonna hook a 20kg fish or there abouts.

hi mate depends how sporty u want to get me and alot of other raiders try our witts flicking lures on 1000-2000 size reels with 6-8pd main and 10-12pd leader, alot of people use heavier gear, horses for courses me thinks really. depends on the individual at the end of the day, the rig u mentioned in the 1st post is more than adequate for jews. what pound line to use depends on the souroundings your fishing in eg structure or anything else the fish can tag u on and let itself free. goodluck with your jewy adventures. p.s make sure u take alot of PATIENTS with u. cheers hamerz.

gday guys quick report from botany bay, on the water at 5.30am to a glorious sydney day the weather was the best it has been so far this year. left the ramp and headed straight to kurnell started out with 3inch power minnows and in quick succession i boated 3 flatty's with only 1 legal coming on board. once the sun was fully up i changed over to a small vibe and had great success getting a few more flatty's and then then the trev's popped up and i spent an hour pulling in atleast 10 fish, biggest going 38cm (new PB trev). .my main target was bream but unfortunatley i didnt get a single breambo but anyways i was still more than happy with what i came out with. the surface action was pretty good i seen sambos and bonitos busting up just off kurnell towards the heads with a few rats mixed in with em. i was only fishing 3pound main and 2pound leader today so i wasnt game enough trying to chase the schools and inevitably loosing expensive lures. anyways great day our and perfect conditions hopefully a few other raiders got out there today and had some fun. all fish were released to fight another day. cheers hamerz.

hello raiders, im heading down to sanctuary point on 3-12-10 for the weekend. ive never been down and im going to be taking down the tinny with me and the flicker and my lures. would just like some general info on the area eg, rough area's to be fishing, what baits work best, what plastics have been doing damage down there lately, wheres the closest boat roamp in sanctuary point. im basically a virgin down there fishing wise. also is there any sand bars i should look out for etc. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance. p.s staying near palm beach. cheers hamerz.

hi mate my brother was out on the georges and he said there was alot of crap in the water he went all the way up to chippo and back to lugarno and he said the water was real murky and he couldnt toss lures cause of all the weed and junk floating around. if it doesn't rain today it should clear up a fair bit one would think.

i'll take you out mate im no squid ace but i have caught a few. probably land based will be best to get u started. pm if your keen mate.
